This is a list of places I'm thinking of visiting (for rather arbitrary reasons). I should have put in the original question that this is a serious enquiry and that I meant for people to rate them descriptively in terms of cost of living, nightlife, transportation, etcetera.

Some of you must have been to these cities!

i have been to Lille, though not for long. it was very very cold. the train station is a bit of a white elephant, its a big new structure, but the glass has big (intentional) gaps at the top and bottom, so the snow and rain is funnelled into the station, like a big ice tunnel

there is an office block in the shape of an L which i quite like too.

the sounds that come from local stations around there are quite boc like
