Does anyone remember the name of this French movie?

I think it was from the 1980s.
Plot: An old man walks into a fancy office to meet with a wealthy
businessman. Then (I think) are flashbacks to WWII where it turns out that
the businessman was a collaborator who denounced the old man's
family/friends to the SS. Then at the end the old man shoots the businessman
in his fancy office.

Sounds familiar, but I may be thinking of Mother Night, which isn't really that story, but has all kinds of Nazi shit.

Well, I'm stumped. A friend of mine wanted me to find this out for him, and I thought I'd get the answer here within thirty seconds. I've trawled through google until my eyes were dangling from their sockets. Maybe this movie was never put on VHS or DVD, so it's sunk like a stone.

I might have been thinking of A Self-Made Hero, which is nothing like what you describe, in fact.

But in my head the film you're talking about stars Daniel Auteuil, if that helps...

Was it Claude Berri's "Lucie Aubrac?" That doesn't sound like the right movie. I found an enormous catalog of French movies and forwarded it to my friend. I think I've done everything I can do.
