So, Sly is coming back for a 6th Rocky film.

Is there another series that has so consistantly gone downhill, only to continue to do so? Is this proof that Hollywood is the dumbest place in the world? Good money after bad, anyone?

Mason 'The Line' Dixon

beanz (beanz), Monday, 17 October 2005 15:09 (twenty years ago)

I mean really, if your surname were Dixon, would you ever contemplate calling your kid Mason? And if Mason is a nickname, cos of the guy's surname, why would he need 'The Line' as a secondary nickname? Damn lazy. The whole film's ruined for me now.

i bet he dies at the end. and then he gets lifted up to heaven where he is reunited with Apollo Creed and they get into their sweatsuits and reprise their homo-erotic sprint through the clouds then they fall into each others arms and Rock lets out a grunt.

Rocky V was SO good... they should have stopped at the top!

I think Rocky should fight an islamic terrorist heavyweight, though.

andy --, Monday, 17 October 2005 15:25 (twenty years ago)

he should fight tooth decay

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 17 October 2005 15:27 (twenty years ago)

Searching for the kidnapped Adrian, Rocky discovers she's being held at a secure fortress the top of a mountain, guarded by Clubber Lang, Thunderlips, Tommy Gun and Ivan Drago. Unable to defeat them alone, he calls upon John Rambo. Through the magic of CGI, Rocky and Rambo are brought together at last for one final gauntlet.

It sounds great, but when do we get the sequels to "Cobra" and "Oscar"?

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Monday, 17 October 2005 15:35 (twenty years ago)

I'm still waiting for the sequel to "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot".

I like the bird flu idea. Dr. Robert "Rocky" Balboa, once a prize-fighter but now a celebrated immunologist, battles his ultimate foe: a fast moving, lethal avian flu. Co-starring Morgan Freeman, Natalie Portman, and introducing Alisa Motukemembeme as "The Kid."

Over The Top...Again!

Hell, I'd watch another Rocky movie, why not?

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Monday, 17 October 2005 20:46 (twenty years ago)

There's going to be another Rambo movie, too.

seven years pass...

I thought Fruitvale Station was in many ways ordinary, aside from Michael B Jordan's performance, and if this is the director's idea of a first big commercial splash....

MGM is setting Ryan Coogler to direct CREED, and the studio is in early talks with Coogler’s Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan to play the grandson of Apollo Creed in a continuation of the Rocky saga that Coogler is going to write with Aaron Covington. Sylvester Stallone will reprise Rocky Balboa as a retired fighter-turned-trainer.
