as you may know, patrick fitzgerald is the special federal prosecutor who's investigating plamegate and who has his eyes set on rove and dick cheney. anyway, i think that this thread's title says it all -- how soon before the right-wing fucktards bring it? and how?!?

I should sit back and break out the popcorn.

What's interesting is how little wingnut bashing of Fitzgerald I *have* noticed -- in some corners the prevailing attitude seems to be more of a 'well Rove won't have much longer heh heh heh.'

(Bizarrely enough, I just got spam mail inviting me to subscribe to the New Republic. I barely look at that site!)

Strategically, they must wait until the indictments are issued at least. If the list is politically acceptable, they will praise him. If any 'marquee' name is indicted, the discrediting shall commence forthwith.

No doubt, the materials of war are already prepared and at the ready, should the need arise. I am certain that, whatever the outcome, you'll find that the leading conservative pundits and politicians will be speaking in chorus and reading the same lines within minutes of the story breaking. This is the modern version of 'machine politics'.

Kristol's on it: http://mediamatters.org/items/200510170015

I can't believe they're fumbling over whether Rove actually said her name or only said it was "that guy's wife." Like what's the fucking difference?

Oh, probably some 'democrats' don't like him either.

Haha. How many people's heads is that one going to sail over?

"He's a vile, detestable, moralistic person with no heart and no conscience who believes he's been tapped by God to do very important things," one White House ally said, referring to special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald.

methinks that freud came up w/ a very specific term for the above-referenced quote.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 24 October 2005 18:22 (twenty years ago)

Hahaha, that's hilarious, considering no-one less than Andy McCarthy said this:

ANDREW MCCARTHY, FMR. ASST. U.S. ATTORNEY: He's a pit bull and he's also the best and most honorable guy I know. I think that the country is in good hands having this particular investigation, in particular in his hands.

As linked from Malkin, who slams Hutchison for the attack over the weekend.

Really good story on Fitzgerald from Friday here. I like the sound of this guy.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 24 October 2005 18:28 (twenty years ago)

I thought this referred to the old punk Patrik Fitzgerald (he of 'Safety pin stuck in my heart' fame) and the title fucking baffled me. But now I see.
