HOLY SHIT

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 14:22 (twenty years ago)

For dinner, I'll be having 3 Double Whoppers (w/ cheese), a large order of Onion Rings, an order of Chicken Fries, and TWO King-Sized Dr. Peppers.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 14:23 (twenty years ago)

(I'm skipping lunch, see.)

Ipso Fatso

Roxymuzak, Mrs. Carbohydrate (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 14:24 (twenty years ago)

i love that the bacon is referred to as "horse scabs."

i am amazed that a meal with that many calories & crap food . . . it only has 22g of sugar & 4g of fiber. ?!?! i realize it's Processed Foods Central, but still.

That's amazing, Teeny. You could feed little teeny for a year!

kelsey (kelstarry), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 14:27 (twenty years ago)

Amateurs.

Yeah, but brains contain Omega 3 which is *GOOD* fat.

Paranoid Spice (kate), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 15:18 (twenty years ago)

Cholesterol contained in food has no effect on the cholesterol levels in the body of the person who consumes the stuff.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 15:20 (twenty years ago)

pork brains are lo-cal!

kelsey (kelstarry), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 15:41 (twenty years ago)

and they are delicious. seriously.

Roxymuzak, Mrs. Carbohydrate (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 15:48 (twenty years ago)

I think the grossest thing about that Hungry Man breakfast is the eggs. They look like yellow foam rubber.

o. nate (onate), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 15:48 (twenty years ago)

I always thought pork brains would be porkier, somehow.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 15:49 (twenty years ago)

Pork brains? Where is that eaten? I see it is a US thing, but I have never seen that before.

Heir Gonzo, Wednesday, 19 October 2005 15:52 (twenty years ago)

i can't imagine what ones colon would feel like after that hungry man thing.

bingo (Chris V), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 15:52 (twenty years ago)

I've never seen it before either! I am thankful for that at least.

my great grandfather ate pork brains every morning for 80 years

(The writing was surprisingly funny. And here I thought product-mockery peaked in '96!)

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 16:23 (twenty years ago)

you thought that writing was funny?!!

_, Wednesday, 19 October 2005 16:28 (twenty years ago)

not really a "US thing."

I have only had it in Filipino food.

Roxymuzak, Mrs. Carbohydrate (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 16:28 (twenty years ago)

My hope is that you're not really reading the article, moreover just scanning through while looking at the pictures and judging how good the article must be based on the general length of the paragraphs you skip. If that's the case, it affords me the chance to type totally off-topic, random words just for the sake of making this bitch seem lengthy. I mean, goldfish lamp wallpaper skeleton in my Bavarian Star or what? Flowers mirror computer Smurfs every time Moses flies playing cards in or around Paris.

its like a bad tep post

_, Wednesday, 19 October 2005 16:31 (twenty years ago)

3than my child you are simply too young to appreciate our classic mid-90s aesthetic of arch, hyperbolic non-sequiturs, such as "a level which previously could only be achieved by eating entire alternate universes made only of prosciutto."

Seriously, that kind of stuff was kind of a winner through the mid-90s. I was having a retro-prose moment there, it's not so bad.

William Paper Scissors (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 16:37 (twenty years ago)

dude i appreciate that shit too but its a pretty generic example, even compared to prehistoric web pages like that dude who called the superfriends fags and reviewed nintendo games in obscene ways... i just dont see how this is a really funny example! our own tep and his corny infomercial/truck stop/weird soda critiques are way funnier anyway

_, Wednesday, 19 October 2005 16:37 (twenty years ago)

though i guess it is funnier than 99% of the excelsior thread teachers pets on ile now

_, Wednesday, 19 October 2005 16:38 (twenty years ago)

Dude, I said "surprisingly funny" -- i.e. usually when you see that stuff it is really deeply unfunny (haha "I liked their 90s output better"), and this actually made me chuckle a couple times. I'm not saying it's superfunny or anything.

Yo but so could someone who tracks nutrition speculate as to whether or not I'm killing myself by eating at deli lunch bars every day? I feel healthier about it insofar as I mostly get vegetables and fruits, and only a little meat on the side, and usually less than I'd eat elsewhere (burgers, pizza, other crappy lunch stuff) -- but I eat so much of this stuff that I'm starting worry my intake of MSG and specific preservatives and chemical tenderizers and seasonings and stuff is just skyrocketing. Like if I get murdered the autopsy team will be able to figure out exactly which deli I go to via signature chemical traces in my body fat.

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 16:54 (twenty years ago)

OK, honestly now: I'm gonna go get a HUGE sub for lunch in about 20 minutes. Either the Italian Combo one (w/ about 10 different cold cuts, LT, pickles & oil & vinegar SO GOOD) or the Make Philly Hate Me one (chicken, cheese, LT, peppers, onions, AND MAYONNAISE GOD YES). And then I will take a knife to my plump & juicy hindquarters and save the now-shanked fat in the freezer for use in cooking / insulation at a later date.

I'm getting extra butter. And a side of margarine.

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 17:09 (twenty years ago)

what's LT?

isadora (isadora), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 18:09 (twenty years ago)

I had the most disgusting cheese steak sandwich for lunch. The bread was soaked through with grease and it was full of bone chips. I don't know why my company insists on ordering these things for lunch.

o. nate (onate), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 18:11 (twenty years ago)

eww bone chips

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 18:13 (twenty years ago)

you know what i had when i was argentina that i thought would be really gross but was instead fatty and delicious and awesome? SWEETBREADS

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 18:14 (twenty years ago)

mmmm... guts

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 19:00 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, dude - Sweetbreads are surprisingly amazing. I had a few different dishes utilizing them in New Orleans a few years back.

Alright - here's a question: Which day = more calories for active participants: Thanksgiving or Super Bowl Sunday?

I cannot wait for Thanksgiving.

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 20:46 (twenty years ago)

THANKSGIVING.

because of EGG NOG.

Roxymuzak, Mrs. Carbohydrate (roxymuzak), Thursday, 20 October 2005 05:43 (twenty years ago)
