Have you ever mobbed anyone?

Prompted by some news story about Michael Jackson being 'mobbed' as he went in to record some charity single.

There seems to be a criteria here: Famous person supposedly arrives 'unannounced' (i.e.his fans know) to a general melee as they all try to see/touch/shout at him.

OK, my one time:

I was in picadilly circus area, and had seen that Paul McCartney was due to arrive at some bookshop there to sign one of his poetry/art books. There was a general mass of people, mostly not crushing. Just then, a limo arrived and a blokey in a tracksuit gets out to general mayhem. There's me in the middle of it, and Macca passes quite close. So, I thought: "Bit rude not to, really" so patted him on the shoulder, like some others were.

OK, so I am the only one here to have mobbed.

I mobbed Michael Jackson! He was "in disguise" at the Virgin Mega Store, dressed in ski mask, diamond-encrusted slippers and a XXL "FUBU" jacket. I got a few feet away from him and can attest that his nose is %100 putty. A handler noticed me noticing him and swept him away. I found him hiding in the woodwinds section one level up.

Oh, and I and about three others mobbed Radiohead at the Perth domestic airport years ago.

I drunkenly crashed into Curve's dressing room and asked Toni Halliday what her favourite Goth record was. I wasn't really mobbing her though.
