Last week I had the A/C on; tonight there's a chance of a freeze.

we missed spring and I hate this summer already

estela (estela), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 00:01 (twenty years ago)

Missed spring, are you crazy? Today is windy hayfever central and I'm drugged to the eyeballs with sudafed trying to not break out in a fit of snot and scratchy eyes :(

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 00:04 (twenty years ago)

I might be a bit crazy I suppose.

estela (estela), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 00:08 (twenty years ago)

I have been sneezing quite a bit now I think about it. And my little dog has got reddened eyes. And there are some noize birds outside my window that wake me up every morning shouting 'bro' at each other and screeching about how they like to chew things up and then use the resultant paste as a spread between two other intact things.

estela (estela), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 00:19 (twenty years ago)

one billion gallons of cold cold rain

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 00:20 (twenty years ago)

Haha estela, I think I love you. Also, I just had to bring my plants inside so they don't turn to frozen garnishes overnight and my awesome see-through bubble umbrella was ruined by the ICY LASHES OF GALE-FORCE WINDS this morning.

JB, if it ever stops raining we should get a drink in your area sometime. I'm not biking over in this sleet, though.

is it really sleeting? when i was out before it was COLD GLOPPY RAIN.

katrina vanden roffle (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 00:51 (twenty years ago)

IT WAS JUST EXAGGERATION FOR EFFECT! "[G]loppy rain" doesn't have the same, erm, cold menace. And I've been trying to smoke out the window so I am perhaps colder than it's reasonable for a person to be in this day and age when I have a reasonably warm apartment to be in.

Laurel, Wednesday, 26 October 2005 00:58 (twenty years ago)

I have to admit, though, that this is perfect sleeping weather! I don't mind being cold in the apt as long as I'm warm under the blankets and I kind of like the slightly-numb nose effect.

Laurel, Wednesday, 26 October 2005 01:40 (twenty years ago)

hey orbit and estela, the weather is sucking hard in LA too, so don't feel bad. we barely had any summer and no fall and now as Amon said it's just freakin winter. cloudy drizzly icky cold. it's not right. who can we blame for the misery?

Wiggy (Wiggy), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 01:47 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I drop the thermostat down to 62 at night and burrow under extra blankets. (xpost)

I blame Yoko.

dude it's cold as balls here! i am half tempted to turn my heat on

strongo hulkington's ghost (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 01:56 (twenty years ago)

Well, it's snowing here. About 3" on the ground and still falling. We lost our electricity for a while. Morning commute should be interesting.

jim wentworth (wench), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 02:34 (twenty years ago)

yeah it's pissing me off how cold it is suddenly. like, it's been raining all but a couple days for the last 3 weeks, but now it's cold too. my landlords haven't turned on the radiator yet so today I went back to my old place and nabbed a space heater I left there.
