TS: 50 years as a lion vs 90 years as a rabbit

What matters more in life - its quality or its quantity? Is it better, morally or otherwise, to live life to the full and end up in the cardiac tent before your half-century, or to compromise, keep your mouth shut and go quietly desperate for the full innings?

i would say i'm a 70 years as a house cat.

The grass is always greener, many a times I've thought how life would be fantastic as a lion. It's usually only a fleeting moment though and I congratulate myself these days on 'staying quiet' and surviving this far.

I'd probably go for quantity hoping I'd have some quality during those many years. :-)

Quality, I’ll be surprised if anybody says they want to grow old.

Although, rabbits do sex a lot...

Most of the people I know who lasted a long time also did a lot - my Grandad was 90 last week, left a trail of broken hearts across Europe, helped set up the UN and had tea with Haile Selassie (& did lots of other things but thats the most soundbitey)

Lions spend 90% of their time asleep, it's only the glamorous bits of their lives that make it to the wildlife docs!

I'd rather live life in the slow lane.

70 years as a housecat sounds great to me.

Well, you start off a lion, but when you get closer to fifty....

Tom's point is a key one here: this simply isn't the choice. Also, I love bunnies.

In defence of the rabbit: they're really not that awful (and don't think they live to be 90 either but that's another topic). They're quite sweet really with their little twitchy noses. I always thought Boris would be a good rabbit name. We got guinea pigs instead :(

That said, would rather be a lion to lord it over all the other animals of the jungle and to be famous in David Attenborough docos. "Sweet" just doesn't cut it anymore.
