hmhmhmhmhmh, Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:27 (twenty years ago)

sub-dwayne nelson (dr g), Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:28 (twenty years ago)

Yes, I think so.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:28 (twenty years ago)

It's kind of dangerous.

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:28 (twenty years ago)

(woah, major x-post, I meant yes too much effort)

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:28 (twenty years ago)

really dangerous if you got a suntan, cos you'll have a white line around your fucking face, and she'll be all like "OMG SCAREH!"

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:29 (twenty years ago)

I wouldn't do it, my hair never looks right just after it's done, i'd give it time to settle down before a big night.

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:33 (twenty years ago)

UNLESS YE SHOWER AFTER HAIRCUT AND BEFORE THE DATE YE WILL SHOWER YE DATE WITH YE HAIR AND YE WILL NEVER GET LAID, YE VIRGIN

ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!, Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:41 (twenty years ago)

PIRATES!!!11

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:42 (twenty years ago)

This wouldn't happen to have anything to do with a "speed-date" would it? The answer is no, don't ever experiment with physical appearance before something in which you want to make a good impression. It's v. risky and your head may end up looking like an egg.

salexander / sofia (salexander), Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:43 (twenty years ago)

if it's gonna be completely different, then dud.
if it's just a trim and tidy up then fine.

not-goodwin (not-goodwin), Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:44 (twenty years ago)

OH OH OH if you are going to a speed dating night here is what you do

date 1: talk really fast
date 2: talk really slow
date 3: dress as batman
date 4: dress as batman then say "oh wrong costume" then leave the room then return dressed as superman
date 5: get drunk and ask your date if they want to fuck in the alleyway

ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!, Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:46 (twenty years ago)

"This wouldn't happen to have anything to do with a "speed-date" would it?"

yes it would. hello sophie!

its just a trim and tidy up though, i think it will be fine, i might not have enough time to actually get it done though.....

hmhmhmh, Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:54 (twenty years ago)

classic if you're me, my hair is totally unmanageable and only looks passable if properly blowdried by a professional type person.

gem (trisk), Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:56 (twenty years ago)

you could always wear a hat if it FUCKS UP.

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 27 October 2005 08:58 (twenty years ago)

Fucked up hair should be what one hopes for the next morning, no?

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:00 (twenty years ago)

Oh well that's alright then hmhm! May your date be fantabulous and stellar and a sign of things to come. Good luck and don't do anything we wouldn't do.

salexander / sofia (salexander), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:04 (twenty years ago)

getting your haircut, for example.

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:05 (twenty years ago)

Yes, quite. Or wearing a pirate hat!

salexander / sofia (salexander), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:05 (twenty years ago)

SHIT, YEAH!
i'm doing this on saturday. i have a date, and i'm wearing a pirate hat. i fucking promise!

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:07 (twenty years ago)

But if it's for Halloween you can get away with it because everyone else is dressed like drongos too.

salexander / sofia (salexander), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:11 (twenty years ago)

aw, you spoiled my air of mystery.
i dress like a drongo every day, btw.
the word "drongo" pwns!

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:13 (twenty years ago)

But what about your HAIR of mystery??? ;-)

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:13 (twenty years ago)

My hair is a mystery at the moment, it has to be said.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:14 (twenty years ago)

xpost Ha ha! And where is your Jane EYRE on your arm whining about her poor little orphaned childhood where the Nazis cut off her HAIR?

salexander / sofia (salexander), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:15 (twenty years ago)

my hair ain't no mystery.

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:17 (twenty years ago)

this topic has been discussed already

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:17 (twenty years ago)

if your head shines, then best leave as much hair on as possible

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:18 (twenty years ago)

Whose head shines?! You could always get a toupe.

salexander / sofia (salexander), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:20 (twenty years ago)

I just asked a cute girl out for a drink this lunchtime. . .

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 27 October 2005 09:53 (twenty years ago)

Don't do this. Chances are she liked the look of you when she agreed to go out with you - therefore it aint broke so don't fix it.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 27 October 2005 10:00 (twenty years ago)

xpost You're right. This has totally been done before. Delete thread please. But we can't throw away an opportunity to discuss hair! It's just too important. Whatever you do don't even try to attempt a DIY.

salexander / sofia (salexander), Thursday, 27 October 2005 10:01 (twenty years ago)

Yes, we've done this before... don't get a haircut before a date, as new haircuts always take a few days/weeks to settle in, and you don't want to feel uncomfortable and awkward.

Don't do this. Chances are she liked the look of you when she agreed to go out with you - therefore it aint broke so don't fix it.

This is true... unless it's a blind/interweb date in which case she doesn't. But still.

I made a mistake of getting my hair cut the day of a first date, and I ended up with horrible straightened hairdo, even though I told the woman not to straighten it, of course she did. I felt awkward and kept touching my hair which probably made the wrong impression and all.

Paranoid Spice (kate), Thursday, 27 October 2005 10:02 (twenty years ago)

"Chances are she liked the look of you when she agreed to go out with you - therefore it aint broke so don't fix it."

it was shorter at the time i met her though so....

hmmmhmmm, Thursday, 27 October 2005 12:32 (twenty years ago)

you should lock your threads now!

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 27 October 2005 12:45 (twenty years ago)

kept touching my hair which probably made the wrong impression

No! Just ask Mike Skinner.

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 27 October 2005 12:57 (twenty years ago)

Well, the impression being that I was very keen, when really, I wasn't particularly. :-/

Paranoid Spice (kate), Thursday, 27 October 2005 14:33 (twenty years ago)

giving the impression of keenness when not is totally great.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 27 October 2005 14:37 (twenty years ago)
