Its usually like this. Just wait till around Week 13, when the San Franciscos and Arizonas are 2000-1 and 5000-1 respectively. Then they can only get into the playoffs via like, teams disbanding or airplanes crashing.

50-1 on Washington (a 4-2 team with a great coach and a resurgent QB)? I'd put money on that.

Yeah, seriously. I didn't even see that. I'll check thegreek.com tommorrow and see if they have similar odds. I can't imagine them being less than 30-1. 25-1 to win the NFC is just as good, given how weak everyone outside the East is.

Okay, I couldn't wait. Where did you get these odds and when? I want part of that 25-1 action (Olympic Sports is running Washington at +1275 for the NFC title and +4050 for the Superbowl. The Houston Texans are listed dead last for the Superbowl, at +235000 (that's 2350-1).

My original question, though, was about how far the Colts had pulled away from the pack already at week seven.

But, yeah, though those longshots almost never go all the way, they do often shorten their odds along the way enough to make you a shitload of money if you know when to sell, cover, straddle, as the case may be.

The unadjusted statistical odds against a given ML baseball team going undefeated are something like 16,000,000,000,000-1, iirc. Just thought I'd throw that in.

The Sexboat Vikings are given the same odds to win the Super Bowl as the 4-2 Redskins?? A sham I tell you

damn i might put money on the giants!

Washington is already back to a 32-1 for the Super Bowl now, which is still better than Olympic or Sportsbook.

As for the Colts being this far ahead, well, its due to the fact that all the serious competitors to them in '05 have had various states of collapse. New England and Philadelphia are very beatable, the whole NFC looks shoddy, and really, a good chunk of the AFC does too. They're the class of the field, and as good a 16-0 bet as there's been since Denver back in the year of their second Super Bowl (I believe).
