i have 4 vacation days left for this year that i should probably use soon, but i have no idea what to do with them.

any recommendations for fun, relatively cheap destinations (preferably within driving distance (no more than, say, six hours?) of rochester, ny)?

There's always the majesty and mystery of Buffalo. Er.

buffalo is out. my relatives live there and it smells funny.

six years pass...

Since you can buy most of what you might forget when you get there on most trips, what's actually essential not to forget? (packing tonight)

Also, the new bag fees now guarantee I will not check anything. I'll be gone for 11 days and doing laundry on the sixth.

doing laundry can be pretty nice, i think. like a sleepy low-energy hour in a different place.
nail scissors are good, i think, as a solution to all your scissor needs. i think they're okay w/carry on luggage but that might not be the case.

they are, last I looked

I am taking the view that vacation photos are overrated, tho, as I have no clue in what safe place I stashed my camera.

rx meds

you don't want to get to your destination and then go through SSRI withdrawal or die or start ovulating or something

three years pass...

has anyone ever had a total nervous breakdown / depressive incident while on vacation? I had a very bad one that lasted like four days straight, on what was basically my first real vacation ever. utter nightmare
