I have shoes like that - it feels like I stepping on mud all the time. Jesus tells me it's "good news!"

I'm not a fan of gel soles, I use superfeet to support my high arches.

I tried some of those 'Party Feet' gel soles in some high-heeled strappy sandals, and it felt so weird. My feet felt like they were slipping all over the place when I walked, so much so that I had to walk really slowly and deliberately, as though I was a drunk trying to pretend to be sober. Which, on reflection, I might have been.

I bought a pair of quite expensive orthopaedic insoles (about £25 from Boots) and boy, they're wonderful. The only trouble is that they're quite chunky so you can't wear them in dainty shoes, but they're great in a pair of slouch boots.
