Devilled Kidneys, Classic or Dud?

Kidneys, in some sort of strange gravy, on Scrambled Eggs, on toast.

Mum used to make this, I guess it was seen as sophisticated back in the seventies, or something.

I can't see why else, it tasted of vom, and I hated it. And so, they would continue to make this, on odd occasions (it wasn't a weekly thing or owt), until they stopped.

Why I just noticed this now, I din't know, apart from a conversation where I stated "There's not much, foodwise, that I'm dead fussy about"..

So, who actually likes this? And what the hell was it made of, that damn sauce?

sounds fucking lovely to me, although i've never tried it. kidneys/liver/offal in general is mighty tasty.

(ok, maybe "offal in general" is stretching it a tad.)
