on foreign accents making you drowsy

does this happen to anyone else? sometimes, when this italian woman is in the office and speaking to me, or to anyone else, my eyes just kind of go out of focus and i feel so happy and drowsy.

Ha: last night at dinner I was sitting right next to this young English guy -- supposedly a college junior! -- who was dressed like a Financial Times correspondent and going on and on, in the smoothest posher-than-BBC accent I've ever heard, about ... I dunno, something about Mussolini and China and various breeds of totalitarianism, or something. He even said "indeed," in the written way, while speaking -- like "and indeed you will find, in the Chinese model, striking levels of blahblahblah." It sounded like the Economist if it came on audiobook, and good LORD was it lulling.
