Sorry, I forgot to mention I was pregnant. But Dan will do the honorable thing I'm sure.

Is it just me, or did anyone else notice a strange blip in the space-time continuum?

M. White (Miguelito), Thursday, 19 January 2006 16:07 (twenty years ago)

There is the theory of the Moebius.

I did actually have an ultrasound yesterday -- back in August I had this miserable three-day sickness which my doctors still haven't figured out, aside from there being some possible liver problem. So I had to go in for said ultrasound -- hadn't realized it was a handheld machine used for it.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 19 January 2006 16:09 (twenty years ago)

Did you get a video? Hope all's well.

Jaq (Jaq), Thursday, 19 January 2006 16:13 (twenty years ago)

I'm supposed to be going back in in February for a follow-up -- haven't felt anything since that sickness, so I'm pretty sanguine about it all.

Make sure to tell us if your harboring space aliens or anything.

M. White (Miguelito), Thursday, 19 January 2006 16:17 (twenty years ago)

If that's the case, I have a feeling you'll all know at the same time without me having to say anything.

I also had an ultrasound recently. It was for my angry angry stomach. That stuff they smear on your belly is freezing, huh? It's also impossible to wipe off. All they gave me was a hand towel, which became completely clogged up after one or two oscillations, so I was soon rubbing goop back into my tummy hair. BLECH.

They couldn't figure out what was up with me though. I think I've got an ulcer.

'so I was soon rubbing goop back into my tummy hair'

Sorry, Dave. Had to be done.

M. White (Miguelito), Thursday, 19 January 2006 16:39 (twenty years ago)

Ned, this man (inventor of medical ultrasound) salutes your bravery.

He looks like William Macy should play him in a movie.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 19 January 2006 17:00 (twenty years ago)

They didn't shave you?

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 19 January 2006 17:03 (twenty years ago)

I've had one before, too. It was weird!

POOP BITCH (Mandee), Thursday, 19 January 2006 17:06 (twenty years ago)

They didn't shave you?

They used the cold gunk as noted above but no, no tummy shaves.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 19 January 2006 17:06 (twenty years ago)

I had my ears flushed yesterday, that's almost as cool.

Mitya (mitya), Thursday, 19 January 2006 20:07 (twenty years ago)

ew, ultrasounds are the WORST!! i had to have one when i had chronic abdominal pain (before they figured out what was causing it), and they made me drink so much water that it was all i could do not to barf it all up. awful!!

Is there an emoticon of a short black smiley face beating all kinds of unholy Hell out of a glib hippie smiley face?

Dan (Just Curious) Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 19 January 2006 20:40 (twenty years ago)

Hooray! I'm glib!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 19 January 2006 20:43 (twenty years ago)

I need to go have another ultrasound, to see if I have gallstones. I keep putting it off - the last one 12 months ago was all clear but I have some kind of cyst on my spleen... apparently thats common though and not a problem!!?
