I include a hell of a lot of media outlets under the term "tabloid" nowadays.

One of the blokes at the centre of this has a conviction for assaulting a minor because he had a relationship with a 15 year-old girl whilst he was a presumably fairly young teacher. Now of course he did wrong, of course he showed bad judgement, but does that make him a vicious, predatory, "keep this man away from the children" paedo? Can't see it myself.

So are the Paedoph Isles included in the Islands of the North Atlantic, or "Britain", then?

Disciplining And Controlling My Mind (kate), Monday, 16 January 2006 13:52 (twenty years ago)

i'm just astonished that anyone in government thought this was a good idea. i mean, clearing someone who has a predatory interest in young boys to teach in girls schools only makes some sense kind of sense, although it's not something i'd agreed with, and i think i'm probably at the liberal end of public opinion here - but why do it? are we that short of teachers? could they really not see this controversy coming?

toby (tsg20), Monday, 16 January 2006 13:53 (twenty years ago)

Err, yes. We are that short of teachers.

Sinister Oink Kingpin (noodle vague), Monday, 16 January 2006 14:03 (twenty years ago)

thing is they're all so vague.

what counts as paedo imagery? pix of girls under the age of consent?

Theorry Henry (Enrique), Monday, 16 January 2006 14:05 (twenty years ago)

I think that would come under the umbrella, yes.
