really? good. what's the piece of music that plays during the "curators" sketch; the one where the two women throw shit at each other?

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 22 January 2006 00:38 (twenty years ago)

1) not literally shit. "stuff". sorry, never post after drinking.

2) shame about the show itself, innit? the darts-players sketch is brilliant; the guy in the bedsit should be wonderful but somehow falls flat; the rest is basically balls.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 22 January 2006 00:47 (twenty years ago)

The trailer for this made it look like the worst thing ever on television (sub-Catherine Tate).

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 22 January 2006 00:48 (twenty years ago)

I love the shy Italian lady and the plastic slapper with the seepage but nearly all the rest is ballicks. Which is a bit weird because the pilot a few months ago had me dampening my grundies.

The tall woman in this is very, very great and ace. Shame about most of the material she has to work with.

j0e (j0e), Sunday, 22 January 2006 01:28 (twenty years ago)

The trailer I saw had people cavorting on cars to that Pussycat Dolls songs in a "haha let's all laugh at fat ugly chavs" kind of way. It was like watching Lauren off Catherine Tate, Vicky Pollard and Waynetta Slob, and it was utterly horrible (not to mention rubbish). Is it more imaginative than that?

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 22 January 2006 01:33 (twenty years ago)

Nope. Which is why the vast majority of it bites the big one. BBC3 "seriously funny new comedy" over-reliant on catchphrases? Tell me it's not true mum.

"Don't look at me, I'm just dust-BUSTing" had me in hysterics though.

j0e (j0e), Sunday, 22 January 2006 01:39 (twenty years ago)

The head writer for this crock of shit is a "Robert Renwick", which is actually Bob Mortimer's screen-writing pseudonym.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 22 January 2006 01:43 (twenty years ago)

I think "on BBC3" is yr obvious clue for "utter fucking shite".

Battle Raver II (noodle vague), Sunday, 22 January 2006 02:26 (twenty years ago)

Bob Mortimer's screen-writing pseudonym

God, is that true? Really? Are you sure? REALLY??

Jesus. :(

JimD (JimD), Sunday, 22 January 2006 03:18 (twenty years ago)

christ. i was saying last night how appallingly sub-vic-reeves a lot of it feels. and right enough, one of the other writers used to work on "catterick" and "shooting stars", according to the website.

that's deeply depressing, dom.

the best thing about it is that piece of music. anyone got any ideas?

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 22 January 2006 10:45 (twenty years ago)

Bob Mortimer, full name: Robert Renwick Mortimer

Raw Patrick (Raw Patrick), Sunday, 22 January 2006 13:37 (twenty years ago)

two weeks pass...
Its good - well 50% of it.

The house maid is great and so is Don peacock - how is it a woman can make such a subversive man, the Spa salesman is a bit sad.

And what is the music played in the country house scenes... does anyone know?

Pete M, Wednesday, 8 February 2006 10:59 (twenty years ago)

i hate this

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 11:04 (twenty years ago)

Excuse me, you come on here to insult the show, you need to look at it from a perspective of COMEDY!

I'm sure we can all see a bit of The Italian Lady in us, can't we?
Just look at it in relation to public behaviour and you will recognise the characters straight away!

You should stop critising it and try and help that poor person find out what the music is called...

I'm sorry but i don't know...
I personally though, prefer the music that the Melody Nation uses (The buny magician)
Does anybody know what thats called?

Nicholas G, Thursday, 9 February 2006 22:52 (twenty years ago)

Divine COmedy - "National Express" I think.

svend (svend), Thursday, 9 February 2006 22:55 (twenty years ago)

Whatever - it's just not funny. No second series for you...

yeh! help a poor person, dudes.

next week (i think) they're doing a three-hour marathon of all the shows. surely such outrages are banned under the geneva convention?

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Saturday, 11 February 2006 16:11 (twenty years ago)

The music is called Finding Beauty by Craig Armstrong. I found the answer using the Name That Tune service from Shazam.com

Jake R, Thursday, 16 February 2006 21:23 (twenty years ago)

:)

i, eh, also found the answer because the estimable "boltz" e-mailed me with it the other day. apologies: i meant to come back and post it here, but forgot.

thank you, jake: much appreciated. i must try out that shazam thing: i'd forgotten all about it.

"Don't look at me, I'm shy" maid, Don "I've dusted it down with sum shake AND vac petal", and "Just a little seepage, but my tits are massif darlink" . . . how can anyone say its shit. Granted there needs to be some severe sketch pruning - goodbye garden centre man, goodbye bus shelter urban girls, but i've seen a lot worse. Luck Montgomery is fantastic. A second series could be just the thing it needs - many comedy series have taken one series to bed in and become iconic. Hurrah for Tittybangbang I say.

Everyone's a critic streeteamer

I haven't seen it yet but you make it sound like the biggest pile of toss of all time

Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 17 February 2006 18:21 (twenty years ago)

The track used in the "curators" sketch is called Finding Beauty by Craig Armstrong and it is on the album called As If To Nothing released in 2002.

You weren't the quickest kid in your class were you?

:(, Monday, 20 February 2006 02:19 (twenty years ago)

All bbc 3 comedy is yuppie shit. It is middle class Liberal do gooder crap. No point or power in the sketches. No real charcters.
Just a load of ex drama students minicing about.

Shite

Shaun Brown, Tuesday, 28 February 2006 10:19 (twenty years ago)

I'm not sure I've ever met a middle-class liberal do-gooder yuppie. At least not one that was an ex-drama student. They sound awful!

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 28 February 2006 10:24 (twenty years ago)

So appearing in terrible comedy shows that no-one watches is "doing good" is it?

Rotatey Diskers With Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 28 February 2006 10:26 (twenty years ago)
