Dude got so fat and weird looking compared to Reservoir Dogs. But I liked him in that bit.

Hmmm.

A personal fan of Wikipedia, he was known to have made several contributions to the site, largely in the fields of law and aviation.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 03:45 (twenty years ago)

his "let's hear it for the boy" scene in footloose is one of the most endearing things ever. RIP.

gypsy mothra (gypsy mothra), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 03:54 (twenty years ago)

his most memorable moment for me was his death scene in at close range

gear (gear), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 04:06 (twenty years ago)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 04:24 (twenty years ago)

Did the autopsy report say he had a large schlong?

june bug, Wednesday, 25 January 2006 04:25 (twenty years ago)

Bush took him out in revenge killing because of douche brother Sean's activism. FACT!

lenny maltin, Wednesday, 25 January 2006 04:38 (twenty years ago)

Thomas Tallis (Tommy), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 06:03 (twenty years ago)

it kinda made me sad that in the first sentence AP story he's identified as "actor Chris Penn, brother of Sean Penn."

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 06:27 (twenty years ago)

um, first sentence OF THE AP story, rather. i mean obviously his brother's more famous than him, but really!

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 06:27 (twenty years ago)

this makes me really sad. stop joking around you jerks :(

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 06:54 (twenty years ago)

it kinda made me sad that in the first sentence AP story he's identified as "actor Chris Penn, brother of Sean Penn."

Yeah, but then again Sean Penn has been more prolific. Chris has been in great movies but also appeared in some duds as well. That said, what a sad loss. I really liked him. :-(

stockholm cindy (winter version) (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 13:11 (twenty years ago)

Poor guy. I saw him on an episode of that Law and Order with Vincent D'Onofrio a couple of months ago and he looked frighteningly rough. I wondered what was wrong. RIP

antexit (antexit), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 16:03 (twenty years ago)

Stay away from the old white train.

senseiDancer (sexyDancer), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 16:10 (twenty years ago)

I blame Tom Sizemore for leading him astray.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 16:37 (twenty years ago)

his "let's hear it for the boy" scene in footloose is one of the most endearing things ever. RIP. OTM. Totally.

it kinda made me sad that in the first sentence AP story he's identified as "actor Chris Penn, brother of Sean Penn." Also OTM. I thought the same thing when I saw the news report last night. RIP, Willard.

luna (luna.c), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 17:17 (twenty years ago)

He was great in Shortcuts! That story was one of the creepier Carver tales, about the two guys that follow the girls into the woods.

I enjoyed the Wild Life but haven't seen it in years... when he hands his girl the jewelry box, she gets all excited and opens it: "But it's empty!!"

"Yes, but it could be filled with a ring... for you."

CLASSIC

andy --, Wednesday, 25 January 2006 17:20 (twenty years ago)

aw, he was cute

Excellent: Jody says it so I don't have to.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 17:35 (twenty years ago)

I hate to say it, but he looks like he's about to fall over dead in that picture.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Wednesday, 25 January 2006 17:43 (twenty years ago)

i asked my friend to make one of those "9/11 never forget" pictures, except with chris penn instead of firefighters and a komodo dragon instead of a bald eagle

Joe (Joe), Thursday, 26 January 2006 00:41 (twenty years ago)

I will always remember him for trying to dance in Footloose, to the tune of Deniece Williams.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Thursday, 26 January 2006 01:23 (twenty years ago)

LOVED him for Footloose, but he's the MAN for being Corky Romano's gay brother. RIP
