Burning CDs - Fast vs Slow

I've heard convincing arguments on both sides - but for longevity purposes as well as for good burns (ie no skips or glitches), is it faster = better, or is slow the way to go?

I don't know about going slow, but I have found that stepping down one notch from fastest reduces the skips and glitches and other fuck-ups by orders of magnitude.

Well, that's interesting, but I'm just imagining asking whether they have any good-quality blank media specifically designed for low-speed burning at PC World.

The answer is going to be "huh?" isn't it?

Aha. I usually get the JVC ones anyway. My computer doesn't make wonderful-sounding CDs but I guess that's either the software or the computer.

if it's much more pronounced on audio cd's, does it affect mp3 cd's also since theyre compressed media.

They have special CD burners to deal with mp3s or audio files of Greek music.
