It starts in a couple of weeks and I'm currently getting in the mood by watching the men's double luge world cup on Eurosport, surely a sport that the Liberal Democrats would enjoy.

The olympics suck. WHo cares how fast people can ski?

I started one a few weeks ago, titled torino or something, but no one was interested

They don't suck but they are definately over-hyped. Still, rejoice in the schadenfreude when they hype some athelete before th event and make it seem like they are the best ever and then they totally crap the bed in their event. Like that pole vaulter last summer olympics.

This is a particular problem for Britain in the winter games, as every four years we seem to have someone who' s ranked second in the world in some random sport nobody's heard of but who then bottles it on the day and trails in 43rd. Except in the curling, obviously.

I like dwhen Apollo Creed or whoever that speedskater that looks liek Sean Lennon is totally feel on his ass and slid across the finish line like an idiot last winter games. Ha ha! The schadenfreude was thick that day Hello Sunshine!

Was that the time that Aussie guy won gold despite being last for 99% of the race because everyone else crashed into each other on the final bend?

Bless him? Now I have to suffer these Winter Olympics advertisements starring him making his way to the head of a supermarket checkout line.

Kids, these Winter Olympics have the debut of Snowboard Cross! If you miss this, you'd better be dead or in jail. And if you're in jail, break out!

Not to mention old favourites like the Skeleton and Ice Hockey fightin'.

You know, in light of everything recently, I am inevitably reminded of:

Yu-Na Kim, best female figure skater... of all time. At this short program she would've won the men's event by a large margin. Look at her eyes, her twitches, the explosive emotions. The olympics can be beautiful.

I would watch the movie that BBC trailer is based on at least THREE TIMES IN A ROW. WAU
