Celebrities Reading Books

I sometimes watch segments of MTV cribs. None of the celebs seem to have any books in their houses, just very unstylish furniture. Can you provide me with pictures of celebs reading books?

Thank you in advance.

And look how those two ended up! No wonder celebs never want to read.

Is it just me, or is Monroe's disputed sixth toe (on her left foot) quite visible in that picture?

The Courtney Love picture's really funny if you pretend her eyes are behind the sunglasses.

Only if she lost one of the others at some point. She only has five toes there.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 28 January 2006 21:20 (twenty years ago)

There are tons of pictures of Monroe reading, or being photographed in the vicinity of books.

Mary (Mary), Saturday, 28 January 2006 21:28 (twenty years ago)

Next you'll be telling me she was married to a Pulitzer Prize winner.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 28 January 2006 21:29 (twenty years ago)

Ha ha.

Protecting the books.

She seems to have some excess foot space beyond her 5th toe and there could be another sort of tucked under.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Saturday, 28 January 2006 21:41 (twenty years ago)

The argument that there could be another toe hidden is very far from saying that the picture provides supporting evidence of its existence! That's an ordinary amount of foot beyond the smallest toe - not dissimilar to my foot, for instance.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 28 January 2006 21:47 (twenty years ago)

dissimilar mainly in that hers is attached to Marilyn Monroe, though. important distinction

kyle (akmonday), Saturday, 28 January 2006 21:50 (twenty years ago)

http://www.snopes.com/movies/actors/mmtoes.htm

The picture of the supposedly "normal" left foot that debunks the claim seems to show an abnormally broad little toe that one would expect to see on someone who's had a toe removed.

Great picture. What is he reading? I'm sorry I could not find a link to a tabloid-esque picture of Kirstin Dunst reading "Marie Antoinette" on the beach.

Great picture. What is he reading?

Angela's book, obv.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 29 January 2006 04:58 (twenty years ago)

Why aren't there more sexy pictures of women reading?

Mary (Mary), Sunday, 29 January 2006 05:24 (twenty years ago)

This nauseating poster is on the second floor of my library. Luckily I don't go up there much.

That's kind of funny because the menu looks like the early Mac interface.

Jena (JenaP), Sunday, 29 January 2006 20:33 (twenty years ago)

Largely because of the font.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Sunday, 29 January 2006 20:34 (twenty years ago)

Which, amusingly, is Chicago. This was designed for the Mac user interface by Susan Kare in 1983. To my knowledge it has never been legally distributed in any form other than pre-installed on Macs.

Having said that, I'm not sure 'amusingly' is the right word.
