Where is the Love for The Matador?

Saw it last night, brilliant! Okay, not BRILLIANT, but definitely wonderful.
A movie with heart disguised in a cynical hoo-hah. Three v. strong performances, but P. Brosnan especially kicks ass. Why does he ever make movies that are not comedies?

Yeah, I read the Ebert review (and saw the Ebert TV review, which I may be thinking of), and he kept going on about "Shaking off the shadow of Bond...etc", but wasn't that what Tailor of Panama was supposed to do? or even Thomas Crown Affair? Mrs. Doubtfire even!
