East Sheen

Hi,
My friend has just been given a job promotion which will take him to East Sheen.
We don't know anything about this area although initial research seems to suggest it seems like quite a well-to-do London suburb.
Could anyone from the area tell me the pros and cons of living here?
Is it nice? What are the transport links like, local attractions???
Thanks for this, I'm a NW Londoner so don't know this area,
George

Well-to-do suburb is bang on really. Good train link to Waterloo, local buses etc. Happyslapping risk factor fair to middling.

Big up the Mortlake massive.

It'd be very easy to live elsewhere without having to big a commute - e.g. if your friend preferred to live somewhere with more pubs/shops/closer to central london, they could live in Putney and get to work really easily on the overground or bus.

It all depends on your friend and what they like from the place where they live. It's very upper middle class, hooray henry type of place, not at all gritty. This is quite telling... http://www.movethat.co.uk/London/My/East_Sheen/

Hmm, I'm kind of trying to relate it to somewhere in NW London where I live.... maybe it's a bit Hampsteady/Belsize parkey given all the cello lessons and reiki healing going on in that link.... lol
He will be moving from (the not-so-nice-bit-of) Hammersmith so I think he may be in for a bit of a surprise!!!!
Thanks for your responses so far,
George :)
