Help!

I have to catch a flight out of Providence at 9am next Saturday, and I'll be going from Cambridge. I can't drive, so I'm reliant on public transport, which right now doesn't seem to great - the MBTA only runs to South Attleboro on a Saturday, and I'm guessing that's not so close, and while various websites suggest Bonanza or Greyhound buses, their own websites suggest that they don't serve the airport. The best option I've found seems to be the Amtrak, which would get me to the Providence Amtrak station (presumably) - but where's that?

Sorry to be so dumb, I'm sure there's an easy answer to this, but I haven't seen one yet.

e.g. I just found this:

http://www.providenceri.com/transportation/airport.html

which says "If you are traveling between the Providence Amtrak Station and T.F. Green Airport, please click here to visit this section of the Airport's website", with a link taking me to

http://www.pvdairport.com/ground_transport/taxi_train.htm

which doesn't seem so helpful :-(

update: I just bought an Amtrak ticket! So I guess the key thing is getting from Providence Amtrak to the airport now.

you can take one of the local busses, but you'd probably just be better off getting a cab. Green airport is not in fact located IN Providence. There's also a commuter rail from Boston to Providence, which may be cheaper than Amtrak, if you did in fact get amtrak.

commuter rail doesn't run all the way to providence on the weekends, as RI won't pay the extra taxes, apparently. there are some bus companies that will take him from boston to the airport according to the airport website, but the bus company websites don't seem to agree.

oh wait youve got the amtrack ticket already.

if the amtrack station is still on gaspee street it is only about 9 miles to green airport.

I've taken a taxi from the train station in Providence to PVD twice, both times in the middle of a weekday. The ride is less than $20 with tip, if I remember correctly, and pretty short. Have a safe trip!

thanks for the advice, people! the amtrak ticket was super-cheap, so i guess i'll give bonanza a ring, and otherwise take a cab.
