Mr Guaino said there were no facts to back up the accusations and Mr Mitterrand had not been subject to any legal complaints.
There are no facts to back up the allegations he made against himself in his 2005 autiobiography, fantastic.

In his book, Mr Mitterrand wrote: "I got into the habit of paying for boys ... All these rituals of the market for youths, the slave market excited me enormously ... the abundance of very attractive and immediately available young boys put me in a state of desire."
The publisher described the book as a "novel inspired by autobiography". Mr Mitterrand denies having sex with anyone underage.

The book was a bestseller in France. I remember seeing him on TV promoting it at the time, and he was asked questions about sexual tourism at the time too, but I guess he wasn't a minister then so he was given more leeway. Particularly since in the book he was being critical of his own sexual tourism and presenting it as the dark side of his character.
