oh, that's fine. i was drunk when i started it, so my title is kinda hard to find. i stand by what i said though. local losers beat faceless conglom suits anyday of the week. i mean, there is at least a slim chance that you could yell at one of these bozos on the street if they start wreaking havoc. not so with goodknight-goodriddance when they owned the thing.

The Inquirer is keeping its promise to focus on local news. The TOP STORY today is about a race horse's injury:

'Other' foot now imperils Barbaro

nine months pass...

I can't seem to find the old thread I started about a Daily News headline -- "Hill Slap" -- which seemed like a sly way to just up and call Hillary Clinton a bitch on your front page. Anyone who didn't believe me should check out today's issue, which says:

PAYBACK IS A ... [picture of Paris Hilton]

Someone over there is really into this! Extra points for anyone who can find a post-Imus editorial piece complaining about the misogyny in rap lyrics.

scott, I think you were right. Local coverage has been good--maybe it's improved--since the change in ownership, and circulation has actually gone up.

(How odd that this was just (mistakenly) revived, I didn't notice until I went looking for it to revive it myself.)
