and that's all I'm saying.

Pleeze Charlotte. There's a good reason Beadle's unemployed.

Annie Get Your Gin (noodle vague), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:15 (seventeen years ago) link

Wow, less than 18 months ago there seemed a serious chance that Chaz could overtake Nicola Roberts as the world's greatest living pop star. Is that the greatest ever fall recorded? I mean, Gareth Gates took a couple of years to go from stumbling savant to dirt.

She is above this, you would've thought. Meanwhile 'Moodswings' remains overlooked/underloved (or maybe just over-rated by me who can tell anymore?).

Konal Doddz (blueski), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:19 (seventeen years ago) link

"Moodswings" is good. Maybe Xenomania or Dicky X will take pity on her and create The Future?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:20 (seventeen years ago) link

A couple of years in Lite Ent hell before blazing back with the best album ever recorded is an honourable career trajectory tho.

Annie Get Your Gin (noodle vague), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:21 (seventeen years ago) link

Well it worked for Bobbie Gentry.

(didn't it?)

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:22 (seventeen years ago) link

Well it worked for Bobbie Gentry Johnny Cash/Jamie Foxx/Shane Richie.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:26 (seventeen years ago) link

No, BG married money and didn't need to make any more records.

Something rather quaint about this format. All we need are the Young Generation doing odd dance routines and it's The Cilla Black Show circa 1971 all over again.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:26 (seventeen years ago) link

I'd like that.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:28 (seventeen years ago) link

Oddly enough my search on YouTube for Rolf Harris and the Young Generation performing "Macarthur Park" in 1971 proved fruitless.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:36 (seventeen years ago) link

Sounds like you need to watch The Friday Night Project!

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:38 (seventeen years ago) link

i wouldn't want to pre-judge.

Roughage Crew (Enrique), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:39 (seventeen years ago) link

We can all pre-judge "hilarious" "pranks".

Annie Get Your Gin (noodle vague), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:40 (seventeen years ago) link

xxpost

I've always assumed I'd rather spend half an hour slamming my knackers in the fridge door than watching The Friday Night Project. Amirong?

Annie Get Your Gin (noodle vague), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:41 (seventeen years ago) link

The Friday Night Project is really 3-2-1 with Justin Lee Collins instead of Dusty Bin.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:42 (seventeen years ago) link

TS: friday night project vs 8 out of 10 cats

Roughage Crew (Enrique), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:42 (seventeen years ago) link

Jimmy Carr is more annoying than JLCollins and "Haha, I'm a GAY" guy individually, but put togther they form British comedy's own axis of Evil.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:43 (seventeen years ago) link

Have you ever seen Charlotte Church and Rio Ferdinand in the same room?

Earwig oh! (Mark C), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:44 (seventeen years ago) link

Who do you think I am, SUZY?

Konal Doddz (blueski), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:45 (seventeen years ago) link

Why do I get the feeling Church's "pranks" are basically going to involve throwing a brick through Cheryl Tweedy's window?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:46 (seventeen years ago) link

I would watch that. Especially if they subsequently wrestled on Tweedy's front lawn.

Annie Get Your Gin (noodle vague), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:46 (seventeen years ago) link

i hear that.

Roughage Crew (Enrique), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:47 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh! this thread has just reminded me that Jeremy Beadle was in my dream last night. He was working at the bus station in some foreign country, and I smiled at him to let him know I recognised him.

I do like Charlotte Church, but this sounds awful.

Cathy (Cathy), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:47 (seventeen years ago) link

That's no way to talk about Ashley Cole.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:48 (seventeen years ago) link

Akshully, she should just make abusive calls to Lesley Garrett every week.

Annie Get Your Gin (noodle vague), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:49 (seventeen years ago) link

"BITCH! YO LEIDERS IS OLD!!!!"

Annie Get Your Gin (noodle vague), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:49 (seventeen years ago) link

Or replace Gavin's fake tan with liquidised poo.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:49 (seventeen years ago) link

How about Charlotte Church throwing Petridish through Cheryl Tweedy's window? Marginally lighter than a brick, I think.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:50 (seventeen years ago) link

It's not Friday yet Marcello.

Annie Get Your Gin (noodle vague), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:51 (seventeen years ago) link

How about Charlotte Church reciting my CoM Girls Aloud piece in full, in front of Cheryl Tweedy's window?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:52 (seventeen years ago) link

Marcello likes to get a few rudimentary Petrdish pwns down on the Thursday to warm up for Friday's full scale onslaught. Like a pre-season friendly or something.

xp

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:52 (seventeen years ago) link

There should be lots of cutaway "transition" scenes where CC gogo-dances in a mod bikini, showing off the famous Bum Of A Few Years Ago. Also: cameo appearances by Einar Orn and Cherie Blair.

Haikunym (Haikunym), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:53 (seventeen years ago) link

I wonder if she'll continue her winning comic partnership with Gary Linker from the Walkers' Sensations adverts?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:54 (seventeen years ago) link

They really should hire Scott Walker to do the Walkers' Sensations adverts. I mean, he turned up for Britvic!

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 20 July 2006 14:57 (seventeen years ago) link

Walkers' Cheese & Anguish?

Konal Doddz (blueski), Thursday, 20 July 2006 15:04 (seventeen years ago) link

Is that for when Walkers start making biltong?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 20 July 2006 15:06 (seventeen years ago) link

I like Charlotte Church. I think she seems like a laugh, and fairly normal.

just what you want from a pop star, really.

Roughage Crew (Enrique), Thursday, 20 July 2006 16:13 (seventeen years ago) link

I hope Cheyenne makes an appearance.
