I am getting so poxyfuled.

It's kind of cheating, but I make fruitcake all the time. Like all the time. I have a cabinet full of aging boozed cakes (and my fruitcakes are good -- I sent some out a few months ago, Aimee's tried one, she'll vouch). I've been playing around with various things there.

Jessie: you are my new best friend. I have six cans of Sundrop in my dresser upstairs, because that keeps me from drinking it too quickly since I have to go get it and put it in the fridge. I know lots about regional food, so let me see what highlights I can think of from these here parts -- what do you like, in general?

I wish shipping soft fruit were not such a colossal pain in the ass, because I'd kill for sour cherries (my ex already played around with this, infeasible), cloudberries, and huckleberries. The blueberries aren't even in here yet, and I'm not sure where to find the fox grapes now that I'm not a little kid anymore.

I think there's only an issue with crossing national boundaries. We won't allow US beef into Europe because it contains higher than what Europe deems is a safe quantity of Bovine Growth hormones. there are always notices up in the arrivals halls of both the US and the UK about bringing meat in.

It was a little tingly-ish, yeah, like mouthwash without the mint. There was a lot of alcohol burn. That's the thing, it's not like they break out the premium spirits for bitters, I'm sure it's the same neutral grain spirits they use for flavor extracts and so on.

I have cleansed my palate with a sort of Sambuca old-fashioned variant. Fancy A Booze Parcel would be a whole nother thing.

trayce, everything here is the kind of same but a little off. tep is right about the milky way have the same ingredigents as australian mars bars but somehow it doesnt taste anywhere near as good. there are also malt balls called 'whoppers' which you'd think would taste the same as malteasers but they really dont at all. australian milky ways = american 3 musketeers. they taste the same. remember when the mars bars got poisoned?

Moxie sounds like italian soft drink Chino, which is totally fantastic. Brown, sticky and bitter.

Italians are, of course the kings of bitter drinks. Any bar will have a fair selection of stick bitter drinks, from the fruity Campari and Aperol, the Herbal ones like Ramzotti, light caramel ones and downright weird ones like Cynar (made with globe artichokes).

i don't imagine they have sniffer dogs inspecting every package for undeclared biscuits.

i used to send with fedex and they make you declare all your stuff at the counter anyway.
