Yeah really, what is the point of that word still being around? My grandfather was a Zionist in Israel/Palestine back when the word had an actual meaning. But the Jewish state's been created, and the Zionists are now called "Israelis."

People who blindly support Israel should be called "people who blindly support Israel." There's not a special English term for any other country, so I don't see why Israel warrants one. This is not to say that Jews still don't use the word "zionist", but it's mostly used in a historic sense. But these days, 90% of the time it's being used as a pejorative with the same old conspiratorial undertones.

We're now beginning to see the unfeasibility of the US-UK-Israel alliance, precisely because it's failed in all its missions and is universally hated. Now, I agree with that, but I think if you read it carefully, what Malloch Brown is saying is that, while the reality is that Angrael is behind the current events, it must not be perceived that way by the Arabs. To some extent, he's arguing for spin which makes Angrael's agenda look like it has other champions and proponents. He's arguing for putting the wolf in sheep's clothing.

Even Blair's own most recent speeches in California have started to acknowledge that Angrael needs legitimacy rather than brute force if it's to achieve anything in the Middle East. But it's too late; Angrael has shown that its every action creates hardline Islamic radicals and failed states ruled by terrorists. Everything this alliance does just makes things worse. That's why Angrael is cracked and broken. Soon we'll start to see quite different alliances dominating world affairs: the EU, China, India. God, what to call that? Cheudia?
