a dance piece. it lasts from 9.30 pm til 8 am tomorrow morning - you have to bring sleeping bag, pillow and sleeping mat (if you have one). could be incredibly classic or indredibly dud but it should be interesting at least!
i'm not really sure what the thread is for - mainly for me to give my impressions when i come back tomorrow. maybe for people to talk about extreme art events they have attended or heard about: all night concerts, terry riley shows (ahem) & whatever else.

The Bed is a unique all night dance event by award winning choreographer Angela Praed which looks at new contexts and relationships between dancers and audiences. It invites the audience to bring their sleeping bag and pillow and enjoy a night of dance, interaction and question before sharing breakfast with the artists.
Dance House are delighted to bring the award winning dance event the bed to the CCA. This is a unique, all night dance event which looks at new contexts and relationships between dancers and audiences. It is a rare opportunity to experience Praed’s tender, intelligent and thought provoking work.
Starting as an intimate duet, the performance progresses to include and involve the audience. Each audience member is given a notebook to record their thoughts and to realise the point in which they move from merely viewing the work into a new state of mind.
The audience are also actively encouraged to sleep as part of the choreography, in fact some pieces cannot be performed until there is a sea of sleeping bodies. The work is documented in film and the sleeping audience have even been sent picture messages using their phones.
This is an extraordinary opportunity to be part of an all night dance piece, to sleep with a dance performance and breakfast with the artists.

hahaha, "I'm going to the bathroom for a bit of performance art."
But it does sound like an interesting night.

as it happens tonight I am giving an all night performance called The Bed. In mine.
it's a tribute/sequel to Andy Warhol's movie Sleep.
