Have you ever spent a night in the cells / been arrested / been charged / been convicted / been sentenced?

Tuesday night of last week (well, Wednesday morning), my girlfriend's younger brother, who I get on very well with, was picked up at 4am by Police for "criminal damage" - graffiti, in other words. He's been into "graffing" for a year or more, firstly little marker pen tags, but lately bigger stuff. He mainly works on boards and canvases at home and legal sites, like skateparks, but this night he was drunk and with a friend who's been doing it longer, and does "trackside" stuff often too. My gf's bro has been known to do that too... I've always encouraged him as far as legals and canvases / board stuff goes - I think art's a great hobby - and discouraged / taken the piss regarding illegal stuff. Now he's been caught, and charged, and is facing magistrates this coming Friday.

Any not-so-law-abiding citizens among us on ILE?

Have You Ever Been Arrested?

That's too bad about your gf's brother. A lapse in judgement can have serious consequences, young man.

Seriously, I hope things go well for him, and he stops doing stupid shit.

And no I've never been arrested, although I certainly deserved to be on numerous occasions.

"Have you got anything to spray in your defence before I pass sentence?" etc

have been arrested and thrown in a cell, was let off getting a summons/court date after apologising to the policeman in question. doesn't sound like that's an option for your g/f's brother, if this is a first offence i think he'll get let off without a conviction - he should do anyway.
