Do you like this time of day?

Hate it. I'm getting sleepy, and I have to start thinking about putting dinner together.

The Bearnaise-Stain Bears (Rock Hardy), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 23:47 (nineteen years ago)

When I was a kid, I really really hated 4pm. It seemed such a bleak time of day, especially during the winter months when it would be starting to get dark, and I would always get a sad, sinking feeling that the day was almost over. I was always mildly surprised by how much I disliked that particular hour.

Now that I am all growed up, I feel differently about 4pm. I'm usually clock-watching around that time of day because I need to keep an eye on the time to leave work or finish up whatever it is I'm doing to go and pick up the children from school. I no longer feel sad about 4pm, and I certainly don't feel it heralds the end of the day (there's so much to do, it's only like half my day is over by then!)

i'm dead tired by 4pm. the caffeine and the glucose rush of lunch have both worn off by this time.

one of the best times of the day during the week, only an hour to go before clock off. kind of mute at weekends tho.

I leave work at 4:00, so I'm inclined to like it.

I wake up at 4 pm.

Roz (Roz), Wednesday, 27 September 2006 13:10 (nineteen years ago)

4:00 pm means one hour until I'm out of work - sort of a long, purgatory-esque hour where others have already begun to go home and things are slower than their usual turtle-with-two-amputated-legs pace. Not as bad as 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm but definitely a standard deviation or two below average as far as hours of the day go.

6:30pm, always 6:30pm

This is the time when the kids start to act squirrely, fight, and demand all kinds of snacks. So it can be a frustrating time. On the other hand, it is also the time that I leave to drive to school now, and so I get Alone Time in the car, which I like. So it depends on the day.
