There's new regular cast incorporated seamlessly into the "L&O" neighborhood. Out are Dennis Farina and Annie Parisse, in are Milena Govich and Alana De La Garza in moves that carry a nice little dollop of diversity.
Jamey Sheridan, Annabella Sciorra and Courtney Vance are out. Neatly fitted in their spots are Eric Bogosian (Capt. Danny Ross) as a gimlet-eyed micromanager and elfin-faced tomboy Julianne Nicholson (Detective Megan Wheeler), a breath of fresh air. ADA Theresa Randle barely gets screen time, but her straightforward toughness makes her a worthy successor to the underutilized Vance. Every replacement is so immediately appealing that the show rolls along as if it had never been mugged.
Out with the old dudes, in with some young women, let's shore them ratings back up!
I MISS DENNIS FARINA YOU BASTARDS AND YOU NEVER BOTHERED TO EXPLAIN WHY C. VANCE IS GONEFor SVU nothing's changed much because it doesn't have to.

i do not miss dennis farina, to be honest. but this season of l&o original seems like it's going to be another one of those that are about 'feelings.'

i still don't get what's going on with CI. I watched last nite, the new detective w/ the pixie do is pretty stiff, and no D'onofrio or Erbe at all. Are they trying to turn it into a 4 person-lead show, 2 at a time, or something?

raymond, just from the van buren-new lady interplay, i feel like there's going to be a lot more emotional chatter this season than in previous ones. it'll be sort of like that one season where jamie ross was always dealing with custody of her kid, and rey curtis was dealing with his wife's ms.

I don't know how anyone can watch any of these shows. I could watch SVU when Oz was still fresh, but CI/Vinny O has been unbearable from day one.

VOMIT VOMIT VOMIT VOMIT
(oh and you forgot rey's super boring angst about cheating his wife)
As soon as the new girl told the dead cop's wife that 'We'll find your husband's killer, I promise" I knew it was going to be shit.

for some reason i always want MORE personal stuff on CSI than I get! last season there was ZERO personal crap maybe to make up for the wealth of same in the season before that.
