A questions on branding, perception and positioning...
GetCashOffer.com
vs
AbleBuyer.com
STOP! Don't read any further...
Before you read what I do in detail below, please look at those two domains above and tell me what you think of FIRST when you see it.
Your very first gut feeling. The first image that comes to mind.
This is important to me because I'm trying to make a decision on branding my business.
Ok, hopefully you followed the instructions and have a first impression formed. Now about my business:
What I do:
I'm a real estate investor in Sacramento California. I provide Instant Relief to Distressed Sellers. I will buy your house, give you cash for your equity and takeover your payments so you can safely walk away. If I can't buy your house, I will help you find a buyer or give you some alternatives.
Strategy:
I want to build a blog-style information-rich website to educate motivated sellers (target market) on their options. They will come to the site from search engines seeking solutions and I will either 1) buy their house or 2) give them an alternative solution
Keywords:
"(How to) sell my house fast"
"Sell my house"
"We Buy Houses"
"Real estate investor (in Sacramento)"
etc..
My Dilemma:
I own both www.AbleBuyer.com and also GetCashOffer.com but am currently using AbleBuyer as my main brand. I just started my website and haven't even put it on a blogging platform yet. So I can still switch branding.
I like AbleBuyer for its brand value. However, GetCashOffer.com speaks to my focus market a little better and has the word "Cash" which catches attention. "Get Cash" is actually one of the main benefits of my service so it fits well. On the other hand, AbleBuyer is more generic which will allow me to expand to selling houses, and other complimentary offerings.
Which one do you think sounds better? Positions me better? Etc?
Give me your gut reaction when you first hear the two names.
Thanks!"

I take it back. He's not scamming anyone, he's just batshit crazy. To this date he hasn't sold any of his houses, had one in Texas foreclosed on, yet he still thinks he is some sort of real estate hustler looking to make "sweet deals" (e.g. last week he meets a mailman in front of one of his unsold properties, gives him his card and tells him he pays $500 finder fees for bringing him bargain properties). The blog isn't about the housing bubble, but the slow mental breakdown of Casey Serin.
Oh yeah, and the Utah property he "sold", well, not really. It was an illegal transaction where the buyer assumed Casey's payments without Casey telling the bank. The mortgage was later sold to another bank and the checks were still being sent to the old bank and now Casey is getting foreclosed on that.
