Who is the highest person on ILX?

Hilariously I'm actually referring to where people live. Who here resides on the highest ground? And the lowest?

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:46 (nineteen years ago)

if you're talking moral high ground, it's clearly marcello.

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:49 (nineteen years ago)

thanks for ruining

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:50 (nineteen years ago)

I may be one of the highest London residents, being in Upper Norwood - the Fresh Air Suburb - but I'm sure that's not saying much.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:51 (nineteen years ago)

xpost

no worries

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:52 (nineteen years ago)

I'm just over 6'2" but I'm sure there's someone taller!

EsteBAN LOUIS JAGGER (ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!!), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:52 (nineteen years ago)

I'm guessing one of the Merkins in the Western states - anyone from Colorado or the like.

Virginia Plainsong (kate), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:53 (nineteen years ago)

- the Fresh Air Suburb -

do they put this on their 'you are now entering...' signs?

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:53 (nineteen years ago)

Our house must be very close to sea level. I wish I was high tho.

Leopold Boom! (noodle vague), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:55 (nineteen years ago)

Well, an attempted Google says that Nottinghamshire "forms part of the extensive lowland to the east of the southern Pennines, the greater part being between 30 and 120 m (98 and 427 ft) above sea-level."

So, not me then.

emil.y (emil.y), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:56 (nineteen years ago)

KOGAN!

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:57 (nineteen years ago)

No, it's from an old Victorian poster (available as a postcard in the Bookseller Crow). "Free from the city fogs" or something.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:57 (nineteen years ago)

Wait--so EARLY 90's MAN and esteban buttez aren't the same person?

g00blar (gooblar), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:59 (nineteen years ago)

no, we are.

EARLY-90S MAN (Enrique), Friday, 29 September 2006 10:59 (nineteen years ago)

i thought the opening post would be

surely Ronan is not the highest poster?

in tribute to the underaged ILXers

the answer of this thread probably isn't someone in the UK.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:03 (nineteen years ago)

Apparently the highest point of Hull is 11 metres above sea-level. And that's a hill. So unless we got some Dead Sea ILXors I reckon I'm the lowest of the low.

Leopold Boom! (noodle vague), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:03 (nineteen years ago)

and someone from the netherlands may well be lowest?

ken c (ken c), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:04 (nineteen years ago)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:04 (nineteen years ago)

Both Mr Jones and I are within walking distance of Crown Point, allegedly the highest point in all of London though I would have thought Parliament Hill Fields would have had something to say about that.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:07 (nineteen years ago)

i'm wearing high heels now.

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:09 (nineteen years ago)

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:11 (nineteen years ago)

I'm pretty high when it's 4:20, holmes.

EsteBAN LOUIS JAGGER (ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!!), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:16 (nineteen years ago)

got there in the end

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:17 (nineteen years ago)

What?

I go for a jog up a hill late in the afternoon!

EsteBAN LOUIS JAGGER (ESTEBAN BUTTEZ~!!!), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:18 (nineteen years ago)

like i say, it takes you a while but you get there in the end.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:19 (nineteen years ago)

i live in a valley. not me then.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:21 (nineteen years ago)

The village I live in is called high spen, and it is quite a long way up. As said upthread, though, an UK ilx0r is not going to win this one.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:21 (nineteen years ago)

no but they can hold the title for a while until someone descends from their mountain castle to demand it.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:23 (nineteen years ago)

I 'm guessing one or more of the Wrights is highest, and lowest is a many-way tie.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 29 September 2006 11:38 (nineteen years ago)

It's unlikely to flood where I live.

anthony easton (anthony), Friday, 29 September 2006 12:35 (nineteen years ago)

Supposedly my old high school is at the highest point of elevation in Fayette Co KY, which is also supposedly 1,070 ft above sea level. I'm not sure why I felt like including the "supposedly"s, I guess I just don't have the same faith in google as I used to.

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 29 September 2006 12:44 (nineteen years ago)

Scott and I live at sea level. We are not the highest. I was born in La Paz, Bolivia, though, so I may have been born the highest.

Maria :D (Maria D.), Friday, 29 September 2006 12:56 (nineteen years ago)

Hold on, where does Mr. Kogan currently live again?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 29 September 2006 13:11 (nineteen years ago)

Gr****y, CO: 4664 feet, apparently.

Noted for its "animal-like mixing of the sexes"*. Phwoar!

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Friday, 29 September 2006 13:14 (nineteen years ago)

He and the Wrights should go climb a mountain and settle this once and for all.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 29 September 2006 13:16 (nineteen years ago)

Bondzilla vs Mechaholmes (blueski), Tuesday, 20 January 2009 13:15 (seventeen years ago)

Roxy lives in Knoxville, right? According to Wikipedia Denver is over a kilometer higher than Knoxville, so Mandee wins easily.
