i thought this was going to be one of those threads where people riff on a theme like "imagine the worst remakes ever" or something :/

Gus Van Sant is off somewhere laughing...

It's true that the bird attacks in the original, while often disturbing, were never viewed in slow motion. And poor Tippi Hedren never got her chance to utter "there's a new pecking order, bitch!"

there was a remake of this! it was a made-for-tv movie, i think.

six months pass...
The same line of reasoning that made the remake of Cape Fear such a smashing success.

I believe there is a little tribute to The Birds, and perhaps Rebecca as well, somewhere in this book

If there's going to be an environmental slant, I hope Wes Studi or Graham Greene or Adam Beach is cast as Crying Indian Spirit.

I look forward to the scene in which the bird returns to its nest to see all its baby chicks dead, and then tearfully swears revenge.

elmo argonaut, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 19:35 (nineteen years ago)

maybe we can get Bird POV flashbacks!

elmo argonaut, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 19:36 (nineteen years ago)

I look forward to some CGI'ed Tora! Tora! Tora! -style bird takeoff action.

Oh and the scene where the daddy bird tells the son bird to fly away to his ladyfriend bird because he's gonna ride this comet or whatever it is STRAIGHT TO HELL.

nickalicious, Tuesday, 1 May 2007 20:54 (nineteen years ago)

And then also the scene where Big Brother bird finally catches up with hero bird and is throwing icecream trucks at him and then the hero bird gets this intense look on his face (the music drops down from bombast to an intense tiny drone here), spits some blood, then says something smart-ass as Big Brother bird falls right into his trap.
