There was something on the BBC site yesterday. The role is ceremonial, as the article notes, but you figure there would be some wider attention.

Yeah, I always forget that Israel has a president too.

The Israeli Justice Minister also resigned over sexual harassment allegations in August:

I think when the Katsav stuff first emerged it was overshadowed by the war in Lebanon but it is weird how little attention it's received.

Also Billy Graham probably sees this as a ploy by the antichrist to prevent the rebuilding of the Temple.

"but you figure there would be some wider attention."

Can someone point to what Billy Graham had to say?

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 06:31 (nineteen years ago)

Uh, he hasn't actually been charged with anything yet, and it is entirely possible that he won't be charged at all (there is doubt as to the validity of some of these alleged crimes). Nevertheless, he's pretty fucked and should step down.

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 07:02 (nineteen years ago)

As I understand it, if he'd been a private citizen the police would have charged him by now. He has to be impeached by the parliament.

Meanwhile, Putin's rape joke "not meant to be overheard."

What a mighty man he turns out to be! He raped 10 women - I would never have expected this from him. He surprised us all - we all envy him!

I was able to get a sense of his soul, a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country.
