Good technology news sites...?

I'm looking for sites that might give me ideas for stories, so obviously not BBC or whatever, they need to be sort of ahead.

I realise this may seem lazy, it's not really, I come up with ideas based on just "finding" things online also but I would like to have a good site I could use daily at least to keep me knowledgable about tech news and a little ahead of the game...

Have you tried using a reader, like Google Reader (web-based) or Sage (Firefox based)?

They're pretty great. As for sites, I don't really have anything to offer other than Wired, but once you do have some, subscribe to the RSS feed on the page and your reader will keep an updated list of current news stories for you.

the register is the only tech site i ever read, mainly because it's often very funny, but it is also fairly ahead of the game

http://techzingo.com/

TECHzingo is constantly watching Slashdot.org, Digg.com, TheRegister.co.uk for new stories, extracts related "tags" and displays them in a cloud.

Any kind of specification w.r.t. general "tech news?" There's a lot out there depending on if you're looking for news on gadgets, broadcasting, security, networks, computers, etc.

I RSS-headline scan Digg, Slashdot, Seed Magazine, Broadband Reports, Valleywag and Engadget Mobile. I read Defense Tech, Matasano Chargen, and Schneier on Security. If I miss anything then some other blog will pick it up.

Original Signal is great if I don't have time to load up my RSS reader.
