That's not very charitable of you, is it?

At Columbia College Chicago (where I am) they've got a killer printmaking AND book arts dept. Dunno about the ride, but they seem pretty alright when it comes to scholarships and such.

Watch out for adjunct faculty who look even younger than my 20-going-on-12 ass, though. They practically own the Art + Design dept.

Man, I finished by BFA at 35, and one of the toughest things about it was all the TAs ten years younger than me.

It's the lazy and immoral way to become super hip. (Austin, Still), Friday, 20 October 2006 10:59 (nineteen years ago)

What do you mean - a "free ride"? MFAs offer electives and independent study if you want to branch out into book making or something like that.

$$$, my sage old freshman advisor told me not to pay for grad school

i went to summer camp at columbia and it was my first experience with a bone folder!!

There are programs that will fund you for stuff like this, yes -- not exactly a million of them, but they exist. (And by "funding" I mean at least that it won't cost you too much, and at most that you won't pay tuition and will get to do a little something for a stipend.) Search out a good program and be very very serious about it -- i.e., "here's what I could contribute to your program that makes it worth it for you to fund me," as opposed to "I WANT 2 PLAY W/ YR MACHINEZ GIMME $$$" -- and who knows.

right now my architecture professor looks younger than me. all the girls think he's dreamy. i think he's a great prof with a good voice, but definitely wears clothes that make him look like some throwback to the mid-late 90s. as in he looks like some really tall lanky guy who is really into pavement and goes to brown in like 99.
