It's the lazy and immoral way to become super hip. (Austin, Still), Friday, 27 October 2006 14:55 (nineteen years ago)

Scary it feels good not to live in the US

I think this is beyond becoming more and more of a normally expression. It seems to be the general consensus of anyone who doesn't live in the 3rd world. Yay, freedom. Yay, democracy. People were so proud of America just a couple decades ago that rock stars would sing about it. Now we put canadian flags on their luggage. Our entire country is the embarrassing family secret.

The judge must have really hated our boy Mickey, if file-sharing kingpins are only getting slightly harsher sentences.

I am reminded of the 311 song about marijuana salesmen going to jail for longer periods of time than rapists. We got some fucked up people in charge of shit.

Scorpian Tea (Dick Butkus), Friday, 27 October 2006 15:11 (nineteen years ago)

I dunno, I think that might say more about the absurdly low conviction rate and short sentances for rapists than it does about how dangerous marajuana selling is.

Sorry, that was a total derail, never mind.

Safari can’t open the page “http://torrentfreak.com/bittorrent-admin-sent-to-prison/” because it can’t find the server “torrentfreak.com”.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Friday, 27 October 2006 16:26 (nineteen years ago)

why is safari blocking urls?

They can't reproduce the elitetorrents logo just like that, it's trademarked!

I feel the worst for these guys. they just plead guilty to copyright infringement solely for putting some leaked Ryan Adams songs on a messageboard somewhere. that one incident only. they'll probably get prison time, or at least house arrest like me.

remember when you guys didn't believe me that this shit actually happened? those were the days.

I felt notorious yesterday. somebody at my job told me that the campus computer labs here have a huge display on me, with a blown up picture of me and a heading like "DON'T BE LIKE DEREK" or something. later that night at the bar some random girl told me she recognized me from the videos. it is going to be nice when everybody forgets about this.

like murderinging (modestmickey), Friday, 27 October 2006 19:09 (nineteen years ago)

you're allowed to go to the bar?

Yes, all mp3 files contain viruses. Remember that.

See, this is giving out the wrong message - I wish random girls talked to me too, maybe I should join one of them crewz too...
