HI DERE DOOD

Dan, have you made a decision about nanoo rhino ?

I love how Nanowrimo seized up today. I wonder why.

I am always having writers block about biology.

I declare this HSTNGS THREAD a no-fight fun zone. Violators will receive a stern talking to, and the suggestion of a time-out.

I am always having biology about writers block.

Aaaaaaaand that concludes my participation in Hastings pt 7.

AHAAHHA That's actually awesome.
I don''t mind violating EPA stuff, mainly because it's fegging espensive.

Lots of inductors and big caps.
that just made me picture hats made ofr hydrocephalics made of coiled wire.

I don't speak either.

I got to nearly 1,000 words today before I had to leave for school. I'm back after what feels like 700 hours of anatomy. We have two big f---ing tests next week, one on Monday night and then a g.d. lab practical exam on Friday night. I am beginning to feel panicky now.

John, 3054 words is awesome. FB, how are you doing? I am afraid to ask A. since right now I am feeling so overwhelmed with school that if he tells me he's already ahead of me, I'll probably burst into tears. Please remind me that I am a grind and a cutthroat. (Also, someone tell gbx, too.)

FB, I am completley cracking up about the title of this thread. If I ever manage to have a party, I will certainly have a bottle of Cutty Sark on hand. (Um, FB, you're going to have to be resposible for drinking it.)

Possibly ever.

I wrote a 2000 word abortion and was so I killed it. I've got 500 new words and I've promised myself not to go back and tinker because that's how I managed to turn a mediocrity into a cancerous monstrosity.

Fleischhutliebe! like a warm, furry meatloaf (Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows), Thursday, 2 November 2006 15:10 (eighteen years ago) link

See, I just killed an abortion. I am so angry right now.

Fleischhutliebe! like a warm, furry meatloaf (Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows), Thursday, 2 November 2006 15:14 (eighteen years ago) link

FB, do not tinker, just keep writing CRAP. That is the point.

I need a nap. And a time machine.

HI DERE, THORNBIRDS

The Android Cat (Dan Perry), Thursday, 2 November 2006 15:25 (eighteen years ago) link

Still haven't read it! I hear it's scandalous, though.

(Now I must resist the temptation to find it on my shelf and go read it instead of doing what I SHOULD be doing and either studying or making up a crappy story. Damn you, Dan! You're always causing complications.)

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 2 November 2006 15:29 (eighteen years ago) link

Thorn birds VS Tale of Genji...
hmmm.

In one he knows her from a young age and continuously fights urges and he's a priest, in one he raises her with the intent of creating the perfect wife.....
I THINK I find the second one less distasteful, but then again, I could be feeling my No christianity speaking again. Violations of oaths by Xtian leaders gives me hope that established religion will dwindle.

The GZeus (The GZeus), Thursday, 2 November 2006 18:26 (eighteen years ago) link

I'll be at 4000 words shortly, just a gentle dawdle. I have come up with some good new characters, though.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 2 November 2006 18:31 (eighteen years ago) link

I'm just happy to have an idea of where to go. At 1839 words, I am nowhere near getting to my male romantic lead. Ha! (So instead of a "romance," what I have is a "meandering story told by semi-snotty character.")

Currently on the phone with St. Kate's because I can't get registered for winter because the registrar's office thinks I have a "hold" on my account. Whatever office is in charge of "holds" says I have no hold. Bureaucratic b.s. fun!

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 2 November 2006 19:45 (eighteen years ago) link

'Romance' and 'St. Kates' in the same post has reminded me that Weeze Dude and I need to make John a board game for John to give him on an (in)appropriate date.

Good luck with the England-ness.
See if you can tour the Masonic Grand Lodge of England. Apparantly it's an amazing piece of architecture, and just plain beautiful. That's about the only thing I want to see in England.

I think I'm genetically predisposed to not want to go to England.
I'm Jewish(theoretically)Polish, which means nothing, in this case.
German...yeah.
Norwiegen, who are the reason that English castles were invented. We like to pillage England, but not stay.
French...again, yeah.
Irish...!!!!!

I leave for staying with Japanesies on the 21s of March.
Buying that ticket tomorrow, as my credit card is currently full, and my dad stuck the money I saved in a different account anyway.

I'm very happy that I found a very inexpensive ticket. $821 non-stop, though I was briefly tempted to layover in TX to say hello to an erotic model I know, and not have any sex with her.

i'm as irish as an american can reasonably get (momz was born there), and don't really have a huge problem with the north of england -- everyone up here is either irish or common as muck or both, so we get on just fine.

i will never like fish and chips, though, barf.

giboyojimbo (skowly), Thursday, 4 January 2007 17:06 (seventeen years ago) link

Yeah, that does sound unappealing.

gbx, could you remind us where in HSTNGS you are from? (Welch, Afton, or Other?)

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 4 January 2007 17:09 (seventeen years ago) link

FLUFFY BEAR, WHY YOU BRAEK HEART WITH ABSCENCE!

I'm over 50% Irish, but it came in from both sides so gbx still wins.

(I'm just glad that a variety of prominent irish actors have made the public realize that we're not all a bunch of squat, red-haired, leprechaun motherfuckers. Saves a lot of time in those interminable "what nationality are you" party conversations.)

No offense to my hobbity brethren out there...

Sara R-C (Sara R-C), Thursday, 4 January 2007 17:43 (seventeen years ago) link

I really fucking hate "What nationality are you?" parties, largely because that usually means you're at a party with a bunch of snotty fucks who should be killed slowly with knives and bats (preferably vampire).

The Android Cat (Dan Perry), Thursday, 4 January 2007 17:44 (seventeen years ago) link

I can't decide if I don't go to enough parties or you people go to too many.

Dan, important question: do you remember Dr. Shrinker (Saturday morning tv show w/ Sid and Marty Krofft derivation)?

YOU DON'T GO TO ENOUGH, BECAUSE PARTIES = FREE BOOZE, THUS INVALIDATING THE SECOND POSSIBILITY.

And those who don't like fish and chips are wrong. I've been eating Tinnucci's fish and chips forever. MMMMMGOOOD. Also the main chef there is Irish, or Norwiegen(red red hair, but ginormous) but somehow makes food that isn't barftastic...

Fish and chips is unappealing because it's too greasy. Also I don't love eating teh fishes.
