yeah, there's a distinction but if you're game for the troll it requires a level of meanness, or a certain lack of empathy.

Going along with the schoolboy sense of humor thing, some people are casually blasphemous because they have a serious dislike of religion, institutions, Christianity -- and then there are people who think they're being hilarious or edgy-funny if they draw an obscene picture with Jesus in it, just because it's offensive.

my younger brother goes to ucsd

it's a commuter school w/ 23,000 undergrad students - it's impossible to make generalizations about a student body that's so large and spread around san diego. it doesn't have many activities on campus or a real college culture. it doesn't even have a widespread greek system really, so 'all ucsd students are like these racist fratboys' is silly on a lot of levels. when I think ucsd student I think 'asian bioengineer who studies a lot and doesn't have a social life'

"bop" is Oxford-ese for a college party or social event, usually organised by elected student reps and held in e.g. the college bar or common room. fancy dress themes are common bcz how else do distinguish your specially-organised night of going to the bar and drinking from what students do every other night anyway?
