Most popular now, in detail

* Russian ex-president Yeltsin dies
* Runner dies after London Marathon
* Why do we hate pigeons so much?
* Crow calls for limit on loo paper
* Man jailed over baby manslaughter

Singer Sheryl Crow has said a ban on using too much toilet paper should be introduced to help the environment.

Crow has suggested using "only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where two to three could be required".

celebrity washrooms' square to be 6 inches by 2 foot long.

look forward to seeing that clip of him dancing like a madman on the news tonight.

blueski, Monday, 23 April 2007 14:22 (nineteen years ago)

I have seen it already on sky! Who had a rolling best-of yeltsin clips thing going before it was even breaking news on bbc website.

I Wonder If Heaven Got A Gulag

am0n, Monday, 23 April 2007 14:26 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing again some of his more drunken, off-the-wall moments again.

Daniel Giraffe, Monday, 23 April 2007 14:27 (nineteen years ago)

I thought he'd died ages ago.

Stone Monkey, Monday, 23 April 2007 15:08 (nineteen years ago)

well there's only him and Gorbachev who didn't die in power i think...

CarsmileSteve, Monday, 23 April 2007 15:10 (nineteen years ago)

I guess they won't really have to keep him embalmed in Moscow Square like the others, will they?

And why this man wasn't on my dead pool, I have no idea.

Pleasant Plains, Monday, 23 April 2007 16:37 (nineteen years ago)

Only Lenin is embalmed in red square. The others have plaque on the wall of the kremlin.

lfam, Monday, 23 April 2007 16:50 (nineteen years ago)

when i was in third grade, we had class hamsters that mated. their names were? Boris and Yeltsin (the girl).

they created many russian hamster babies

Mixed feelings.

Someone should post that photo of him bouncing up and down with a rather confused little girl shot during the '96 elections. It gives the phrase "kissing babies" an interesting twist.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Tuesday, 24 April 2007 03:54 (nineteen years ago)

I always felt a bit sorry for Boris after the whole "dancing with a German oompah band" thing. Nelson Mandela gets up on stage and does a little dance and everyone says "Oh, Nelson, he's such a trooper!". Boris (Boris is the best first name in the world, IMHO) does the same and it's "Fuckin' Russian pisshead."

No wonder he resigned.

Hello Sunshine, Tuesday, 24 April 2007 09:08 (nineteen years ago)

he was a pisshead tho.

blueski, Tuesday, 24 April 2007 11:38 (nineteen years ago)

and a cunt

Tom D., Tuesday, 24 April 2007 11:39 (nineteen years ago)

A grade A cunt, who it's been sickening to hear was apparently a 'democrat'. Fucking cunts the lot of em, I say - Bozza and his boosters in the west.

The Boyler, Tuesday, 24 April 2007 12:15 (nineteen years ago)

Yes, John Major was all over the telly last night - that strange little man was once our Prime Minister?!?!?

Tom D., Tuesday, 24 April 2007 12:18 (nineteen years ago)

... and they say Gordon Brown is too weird and uncharismatic to be Prime Minister?!?!??!

Tom D., Tuesday, 24 April 2007 12:19 (nineteen years ago)

he's too weird and uncharasmatic for 2007. 1990 was still like the dark ages.
