i think it's kind of sweet, like it should have been on back in the day, before lawrence welk, and you'd watch it with your grandma.

how do you call out bingo if no one can hear you? also how do i shot 6 million unique bingo cards?

two weeks pass...

OMG this is the best show ever.

"Noooooo.......BINGO!"

No skill, just panache. That's what I like in a gameshow.

think about who is home watching ABC on a friday night: old people, children, families. those are the demographics for Bingo, dude.

Don't forget me.

This show becomes more appealing when alcohol is involved too.

Let's take that Howie Mandel suitcase show. That doesn't really involve that much skill. This show calls for NO skill, and it's coupled with cute little man wearing a ref shirt called "Commissioner Sunil", who yells out if anyone in the audience has bingo. Also, it takes place in a room called the "BingoPlex."

I'm convinced that "DoND" is fixed, but there's another thread for me to go on about that on.

BingoPlex!!!

jergïns, Friday, 1 June 2007 18:07 (nineteen years ago)

It probably is. I don't trust anyone who was in "Walk Like a Man."

I could go on and on about how great this show is, but then I realize I'd probably sound insane and pathetic. However, let me just say that this show is so RIDICULOUS and AWESOME, even the people in the audience are laughing at the camp factor of this show (esp. when they stand up when they're one spot away from getting bingo).

Also, is the host the English dude from the Extreme Home Makeover show? It makes no sense that it would be him, but I think it is!

I trust Cloris Leachmann. Christopher Lloyd is maybe on the border.

I don't trust anyone named "Cloris."

Used to love a game of bingo but haven't indulged for some time except for a pop music bingo thing they do in my local sometimes

Bingo is a thing for me at gatherings of my family on my mom’s side but at no other time. Usually someone brings an assortment of cheap and undesirable prizes!

a few years back i got into going to bingo occasionally. quite depressing here tbh. lots of gambling addicts spending the big bucks. no booze.

Bingo Hall over the road from where me and Mrs V used to live was a proper old cinema conversion. Sitting up in the balcony when the national prize was playing was a pretty fun adrenalin rush helped by me not liking heights.

years and years ago, I took a temp assignment at a marketing firm that was doing Bingo America on the gameshow network. I had to call like, every single bingo hall, casino, booster club, american legion, vfw, elks/moose/whatever lodge, church, etc to ask if they played bingo and if I could send them a Bingo America kit. It really sucked. But mostly because everyone who I worked with sucked.

I go from time to time. Locally, at least, it seems to be dying despite the endless special offers, cheap food / booze, etc. Online bingo and the explosion in the number of older people with tablets has probably set the clock ticking on 400+ capacity halls with a handful of pensioners in them, which is a shame - not least because there are so few social spaces in the area.

ShariVari, Thursday, 9 January 2020 22:49 (six years ago)

I love the idea of Bingo and am completely addicted to numbers games, but just never been in my life. My stepdad practically lives in Casinos and is constantly telling people how much they are also dying on their arse and how great some of the quite desperate cheap food/booze offers are.

There's at least a couple of newer purpose-built halls round here and they're not the same, kinda characterless MFI-looking big sheds. Puts me off a bit.

can be good tho
