It's all about the nuances anyway - what sportcoat, what hoodie, how it's worn, etc. Those fancy hoodies that look like they're made to wear with sportcoats and have pictures of dragons or something on them need to go.

Aside from Chappelle, I've never seen the hoodie variation of this, but when done properly, the jacket and t-shirt combo works fine. I think some people are a little down on it because they're not able to pull it off themselves.
