― blueski, Tuesday, 22 May 2007 15:06 (nineteen years ago)

― nathalie, Tuesday, 22 May 2007 15:06 (nineteen years ago)
"i bookmark threads to a folder in Firefox..."

L O S T
so great to be able to read 51 new answers w/o loading the whole thing and crashing my crappy overheating computer.
― goth casual, Tuesday, 22 May 2007 22:26 (nineteen years ago)
In my old browser I had about 150 threads bookmarked under four categories: Anecdotal/Practical/Philosophical/Musical.

What do the little red stars next to the bookmarks mean?
― Ms Misery, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 13:00 (nineteen years ago)
What little red stars?
― onimo, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 13:03 (nineteen years ago)
That there's been a post since you bookmarked.
― kv_nol, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 13:04 (nineteen years ago)
Oh that's handy.
― onimo, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 13:04 (nineteen years ago)
Yeah that's what I thought but when I click on the threads, I don't see new posts. Maybe I need to refresh.
― Ms Misery, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 13:09 (nineteen years ago)
It only shows posts that are new since the point where you bookmarked the thread. You have to re-bookmark that thread by clicking on the last post, which makes the asterisk go away until the next time there are new posts. It's kind of unwieldy, but it's better than nothing esp. with big threads like L O S T.
― Rock Hardy, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 13:18 (nineteen years ago)
once again: this feature RULES so much
― Alan, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 13:22 (nineteen years ago)
Alan OTM.
― kv_nol, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 13:23 (nineteen years ago)
Ah, yeah I see that now Rock. I can't really be bothered with bookmarking every time I read the thread but every so often does help with the load time.
― Ms Misery, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 13:31 (nineteen years ago)
Kicking back to the top level boards page when you bookmark is a pain but only a minor one.
esp. with big threads like L O S T.
