Is it possible that actually it's a trojan or virus sending the spam from your computer, where you are indefinitely logged in to gmail?

Um, how is changing the password on the gmail account going to help???

Odds are some spambot is installed on yr machine; get Ad-Aware and Spybot and try tracking it down.

maybe you should go to a specialized forum like they list at http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/forums.php and follow their particular HijackThis log posting procedure , it's a hassle that will look like this http://forums.whatthetech.com/Before_Posting_A_Hijackthis_Log_self_Help_t57813.html
and see how it goes from there
