do you mean the top sheet or the fitted sheet? i only use a fitted sheet and a duvet cover, no top sheet.

bell_labs, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:12 (eighteen years ago)

I very much prefer tucked, but the last set of full sheets I bought are TOO NARROW to tuck both sides under and still get in them. I realize this is partly b/c they were a bargain and not a luxury purchase, so the makers are saving $$ on that extra 6-10" of fabric, but am still a little put off.

Laurel, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:14 (eighteen years ago)

no duvet, no umm...

Mark G, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:14 (eighteen years ago)

IIRC mookie is an untucker, leading to problems with wifey, who is a tucker.

Mr. Que and I have the same problem.

quincie, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:18 (eighteen years ago)

I always need to have one leg sticking out from the sheets.

O NO YOU DIDNT GIRLFRIEND

Mr. Que, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:24 (eighteen years ago)

(okay since i am an untucker and it has now been revaled in PUBLIC, i guess the solution is to remake the bed every morning ;___;)

Mr. Que, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:29 (eighteen years ago)

We have fitted sheet on the bottom and tucked in top sheet under the duvet. It is not unknown for the mister, who is an untucker, to lie on top of the sheet while I lie under it.

ailsa, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:39 (eighteen years ago)

Oooh I hate it when they do that, Ailsa. The sheet is on there specifically so one doesn't get the comforter/duvet dirty, STOP TOUCHING IT.

Laurel, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:40 (eighteen years ago)

One tuck, one no-tuck. One tuck, one no-tuck

G00blar, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:41 (eighteen years ago)

Laurel OTM. No top sheet = eww. We have good quality cotton sheets so it's not like lying in icky bad sheeets or anything.

ailsa, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:49 (eighteen years ago)

Also then there is a sheet in the way of your snuggling. I wish my bedpartner(s) would just lie still and keep the covers neat.

Laurel, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:52 (eighteen years ago)

it's not gross if you use a duvet cover that can be taken off and washed.

bell_labs, Friday, 19 October 2007 15:52 (eighteen years ago)

If yr committed to washing yr duvet cover all the time, hey no prob, you don't need a top sheet anyway! xp right. Mine comes off but it's a pain, so I treat it as a comforter and do not touch.

IIRC mookie is an untucker, leading to problems with wifey, who is a tucker.

this is exactly wrong. we go half and half, and entropy always eventually fucks my tuck. then my feet stick out and get cold. also i can't have a footboard cause i'm too tall.

mrs mookie once drunkenly fell out of a hotel bed as she was trying to arise and blamed it on the tuck--'my feet got trapped!' whatever, mrs mookie.

mookieproof, Friday, 19 October 2007 17:44 (eighteen years ago)

Do you mean tucking at the bottom? I thought everyone did this. Otherwise it's drafty, and monsters can bite your toes.

Tracer Hand, Friday, 19 October 2007 17:48 (eighteen years ago)

I CAN'T STAND tucked sheets, makes me feel like I'm in a goddamned envelope of a straightjacket. I need to kick wildly in my sleep, if the sheets are tucked I srsly have weird dreams about my legs. I cocoon myself in the sheet/blanket and never make my bed. There is absolutely no point.

Abbott, Friday, 19 October 2007 18:46 (eighteen years ago)

xpost - not if you wrap your toes in the sheets

gabbneb, Friday, 19 October 2007 18:47 (eighteen years ago)

I stopped giving a shit

El Tomboto, Friday, 19 October 2007 19:43 (eighteen years ago)

i'm with belllabs on the the fitted + duvet cover with duvet in it. otherwise everything is too tangled b/c i can't deal with tucking except at the v bottom

my sheet scene right now is a mess
which i am going to solve with capitalism

rrrobyn, Friday, 19 October 2007 19:49 (eighteen years ago)

Fitted sheet with no top sheet. I can't stand tucked sheets. My feet need to be sticking out otherwise I feel trapped. If I stay somewhere where the sheets are tucked in the first thing I do is untuck them.

ENBB, Saturday, 20 October 2007 02:42 (eighteen years ago)

i'm with enbb. and if i didn't have a fitted bottom sheet it would never be tucked in cuz i NEVER make my bed.

Rubyredd, Saturday, 20 October 2007 02:55 (eighteen years ago)

Tucking is important. Else, cold feet. And cold feet = awake and uncomfy. Uncomfy = no fucking. Thus, tucking != fucking.

libcrypt, Saturday, 20 October 2007 03:06 (eighteen years ago)

Probably my opinion is shaped by the fact that I live in San Francisco, where it's cold 13 months of the year.

libcrypt, Saturday, 20 October 2007 03:07 (eighteen years ago)

No! Cold feet = love. Also, tucking is too confining for fucking.

ILX System, Sunday, 21 October 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

Tucked at teh end. The rest is untucked. Would make me feel extremely confined.

stevienixed, Sunday, 21 October 2007 23:04 (eighteen years ago)

Consomelia Chisbreth-Vermeer, Sunday, 21 October 2007 23:13 (eighteen years ago)

I tuck them in when I make the bed in the morning. Then once I get in bed for the night, I untuck the sheet by pulling at it with my feet so they can hang out in the breeze. I have a physiological condition that I refer to as "hot foot". Having them covered makes me extremely uncomfortable.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Sunday, 21 October 2007 23:30 (eighteen years ago)

This is on another thread somewhere - I don't buy fitted sheets, only king-size flat sheets (for a queen sized bed). The bottom sheet gets stretched flat and has hospital corners all around the mattress, then the top sheet/flannel sheet blanket/duvet cover (w/duvet in there once it's really cold) gets laid on and pulled down between the footboard and the mattress, but not tucked. Mr. Jaq has magical powers of crumpling up and de-tucking the bottom sheet that manifest every two or three nights, so I only straighten everything out before we go to sleep. I can't sleep on wrinkled up sheets, myself. And I like to be able to move my feet around at will.

Jaq, Monday, 22 October 2007 00:06 (eighteen years ago)

shit better be tucked or i ain't sleepin over bitch
