Also, what sort of heating do you use?
I won't ask what it costs you, because it's all expensive and the thread would be taken over by endless complaints about energy bills. Knowing how threads drift, this is likely to happen regardless.
In my case it is oil furnace, about 66F daytime, and 59F at night.

Haven't turned on the heat this winter yet. Just a little space heater when someone gets a bit chilly.

There is some truth to that I think. And hey, it smells good.

We have 2 of those plug-in oil-filled radiator heaters - one in the bathroom and one at the other end of the loft in the bedroom. The bathroom one is set to 68 F and sometimes cranked up to 70 F; it also dries and warms our bath towels. The one at the bedroom end is set for 65 F. We get some heat wafting up through the hardwood floor from the rug shop beneath us, and our walls are the original brick (with a couple holes that you can see daylight through on the back wall. 15' ceilings and no cross ventilation. The windows are also all single pane and very tall, and being on the alley get no direct sunlight. It's a nice cave. The light fixtures in the kitchen have incandescent bulbs, as do 2 torcheres in the living room area. Those add some heat, as does the stove. It's never unpleasantly cold, but I do always wear slippers and socks.
