i did not come up with this, but it is awesome

http://www.sydlexia.com/blogstuff/gutsdrinkinggame.png
"1. Every time you remember that Mike O’Malley’s profession of choice is second-rate comedian, do a shot.
2. Every time you see Moira “Mo” Quirk, do a shot.
3. Every time you consider fucking Mo, do a shot.
4. Every time some one says Aggro Crag, do a shot.

Is it particularly clever? No, but it’ll get you absolutely TRASHED."

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 03:52 (eighteen years ago)

the aggro crag was my shit when i was 8

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 03:52 (eighteen years ago)

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 03:54 (eighteen years ago)

I have no idea what this is!!

ENBB, Monday, 28 January 2008 03:55 (eighteen years ago)

Shoulda been a 1p3 thread!

roxymuzak, Monday, 28 January 2008 03:56 (eighteen years ago)

it went downhill after they let those dirty immigrants compete in "global guts"

burt_stanton, Monday, 28 January 2008 03:57 (eighteen years ago)

a primer on guts for the uninitiated

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 03:57 (eighteen years ago)

Three children or teenagers competed in four athletic events at the "Extreme Arena" for points.

Some events were based on skills in popular sports, such as basketball (-|-), baseball(> <), football<++> and soccer(;*.). Others made use of a wave pool, and sometimes a racing track was used. During the show's run, more creative and ambitious events were invented, including a fabricated ski slope and the famous "Peak to Peak." Each event was said to allow the contestants to "live out some of their greatest sports fantasies" in a competitive arena.

After the first event, one of the three players was asked to "Spill Your GUTS" between the remaining events. In season one, Mike talked about the player and his or her athletic and non-athletic interests. In season two, Moira discussed the player's interests, and also mentioned what GUTS equaled to that player. In season three, during a brief pre-recorded segment, the players introduced themselves and reveal their athletic and non-athletic interests, what GUTS meant to them, why they were excited to be on GUTS, and/or usually also give a shout-out to their friends and family back home. On Global GUTS, the contestants introduced themselves here as well; non-English speakers introduced themselves in their native language, and a translator did an English voice-over for them.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 03:59 (eighteen years ago)

I want digital cable just to get GAS, NOGGIN, and VH1 Classics and relive my unfulfilled early 90s childhood. IMagine my girlfriend seeing me sitting there for hours watching shitty kids gameshows from 1991. remember wild and crazy kids??! do you??! because I Do! omar. that redhead chick i wanted to bone despite not yet being able to bone, and the rotating white kid. ohhhhhhh how i wanted to participate.

burt_stanton, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:00 (eighteen years ago)

dude apparently they are taking GAS off of digital cable and making it online-only

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:02 (eighteen years ago)

holy shit the aggro crag has a myspace

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:02 (eighteen years ago)

burt_stanton, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:02 (eighteen years ago)

Gukbe, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:03 (eighteen years ago)

i know right

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:05 (eighteen years ago)

in retrospect this show seems like a nerf marketing ploy lol

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:07 (eighteen years ago)

all our memories are from marketing ploys.

burt_stanton, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:08 (eighteen years ago)

Legends of the Hidden Temple was amusingly ghetto

roxymuzak, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:08 (eighteen years ago)

the doors that would get stuck in the frames as the techs pulled them upward

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:10 (eighteen years ago)

THE MOAT aka the small pool

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:10 (eighteen years ago)

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:16 (eighteen years ago)

Nick Arcade was the most amusingly ghetto of all

A B C, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:19 (eighteen years ago)

i loved that GUTS was like american gladiator for kids and Temple was like a mayan-themed mcdonald's playpark.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:20 (eighteen years ago)

Guts
Legends of the Hidden Temple
Wild & Crazy Kids
Double Dare
What Would You Do?

I watched way too much TV as a kid.

musically, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:24 (eighteen years ago)

My mom's BFF's daughter won the British Knights, the trip to Club Med, everything, on Legends of the Hidden Temple. I got winded playing hopscotch and knew that even if I had been lucky enough to live in Orlando like her the best I would have been able to hope for was like outsmarting Lori Beth Denberg on Figure it Out so this engendered an incredible sense of awe/envy towards her on my part that lasted until I was a teenager and even then it was like 30% that I had matured a little and 70% that she got knocked up in high school

A B C, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:25 (eighteen years ago)

haha

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:26 (eighteen years ago)

i mean :( but haha too

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:26 (eighteen years ago)

Wild and Crazy Kids was like a cue to get off the fucking couch, I could watch and be entertained by sporty stuff so long as it had some sort of gimmick but W&CKs was like watching a videotape playback of summer camp

A B C, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:27 (eighteen years ago)

one of the first things we ever tivo'ed at our house was the figure it out episode (or one of a few of them, i forget), with JESSE CAMP as one of the guessers

impudent harlot, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:27 (eighteen years ago)

for some reason I hated Jesse Camp with a passion. This gives me consolation, though:

Camp held his position as an occasional TRL host for one year. Upon leaving he attempted to parlay his MTV fame into a music career, announcing the debut album of his band Jesse & the 8th Street Kidz on the Hollywood Records label. The album sold poorly, and Camp's band was soon dropped from the label. In late 2006, he was reportedly working at a Los Angeles-area pet supply store.[3]

burt_stanton, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:30 (eighteen years ago)

I don't think that's so inexplicable!

A B C, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:34 (eighteen years ago)

jesse camp rip

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:34 (eighteen years ago)

That ep of Figure It Out sounds like a magical bridge btwn the sitting-on-my-ass-wasting-my-youth habits of my childhood and junior high years

A B C, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:35 (eighteen years ago)

Guts
Legends of the Hidden Temple
Wild & Crazy Kids

What Would You Do?

latebloomer, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:42 (eighteen years ago)

latebloomer, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:43 (eighteen years ago)

didn't they have like are you afraid... halloween specials and shit?

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:43 (eighteen years ago)

what do u guys think happened to Lori Beth Denberg?

Whiney G. Weingarten, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:48 (eighteen years ago)

Denberg also recently made an appearance on the court style show Christina's Court, aired March 20, 2007, as a witness for a defendant being sued after her dog allegedly attacked another.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 28 January 2008 04:53 (eighteen years ago)
